View Full Version : Finally a competitor for EAsports on the PSX ZZUB 06-12-1999, 03:22:AM I have been playing Sony's "This is Football" on the playstation for the last 2 days. Finally EAsports has some competition. This game is superb, it has everything. This beats Fifa 2000 on the playstation. Mark 06-12-1999, 05:12:AM Does it have leagues or is it just international sides? Looked at the website but not too much info there. ZZUB 06-12-1999, 07:27:AM It has the full set of international competitions, including confederations competitions, all the European club competitions, Portugal to Germany, Scotland to Italy etc etc. It has custom competitions, custom player attributes, a wide range of stadiums accurately portrayed, real names, varied camera angles, savable replays etc etc etc. This beats Fifa 2000 on the PSX FIFAfreak 06-12-1999, 08:55:AM Is "This is Football" a European (or other) market game only? I didn't see it in the sports games list at the Sony North America site. If it is, that sucks. One gripe I have about the Playstation is the inability to play games from other markets (like Europe) because the consoles are different. Unless anyone knows of a converter for the U.S version to play foreign games?? GROBAR_OTAGO 06-12-1999, 09:04:AM The game should be avalible in North America, but if not you could buy the game from the UK and also get a game enhancer(which lets you play imports). FIFAfreak 06-12-1999, 10:17:AM Who makes these game enhancers or converters and where can you get them? I have never seen them... and how do they work? northview 06-12-1999, 05:01:PM I tried the demo of 'This is football' (PSX), and did not like it. Poor graphics, non-intuitive controls with regard to skilful tackling and passing, and it even suffers from the same' high-speed' disease as FIFA 2000. I only stuck with it for a few hours, though, in hope that it really would be better than the maddeningly-paced FIFA 2000, but alas no... Maybe more tweaking possiblities is available in the full version that makes it better? Come on those of you that like 'This is football' and explain to the rest of the world why it beats FIFA 2000. ZZUB 06-12-1999, 05:47:PM The demo version didnt come close to how well it plays in the full version. However the graphics on the players are not as good as FIFA 2000's but what do you want? nice players or good gameplay?. GROBAR_OTAGO 06-12-1999, 07:31:PM Sorry FIFAfreak I dont know where you could get them in North America, I got mine from Australia(www.psxplus.com.au)...for about US$15 Game Rod 06-12-1999, 07:39:PM Is it possible that they release a PC version, or will this game only be available for playstation? Can somebody give a list of available international teams? |
