I have msn where i am always on it and i am occationally on Aim.

I got a question....... I had and account with ICQ, but then my PC had to be rebooted meaning it got deleted. So if i now go and download it, will i be able to use my old account?

Can anyone answer that question?

If you have the username and password for your previuos account, i'm almost positive you can use it again..... ;)

But with ICQ, you never actually had to sign in with a password..........

the password is optional......then, i think, you only have to remember your username or loginname or whatever....

Huh? for icq there is always a password! but you can also choose if you want to login automatically or not...but there is always a password related to your username, in case of youre reinstalling it or want to try it on another cpu

Anyway, i downloaded the 2001 edition, used my old account and got everything set up. But the problem is........ none of my old friends that i had saved onto ICQ are there anymore. Does that normally happen?

Yes, your contact list is saved on your hd not on a server...well before, now with icq2001b the contact list is also saved on the server, so the contacts you'll get now will be saved :p

ICQ is the best IM (IMHO -> you have to put one of these around everything you say these days :rolleyes: ) because it has the most features in an IM. I use MSN occasionally...but that is because a few stuborn friends dont' want to use ICQ, grrr :p
