View Full Version : Which team and player for the CPU impresses you the most when you play against them
grashed 10-11-2001, 04:32:PM Evertime I always meet Holland in the final, I think they are the best CPU team on the game. Every time I play aginst them in the final it always goes to penalties. The player that impresses me the most in that team is Edgar Davids, he defends and attcaks very well. He always scores long shots, I nominate him for the best CPU player.
And you?
Neutral LFC 10-11-2001, 04:47:PM In ISS PE2 I totally agree - Holland are easily the best team in the game followed by France. And I also agree that Davids is a very influential player, though if I have to point out one player that I dread playing against is Roberto Carlos (oh, sorry, Corlos...who is he? ;) )- even against the CPU Brazil I always try to stay clear of attacking down (my) right wing unless I have a good team because Carlos always shuts down my right winger when I have a mediocre (Iran) or poor team (Wales, quite often).
In JLWE5 I am just getting hammered by Jubilo - they are so frickin' good, last night and for 3 hours today I was trying to beat them until I finally managed to pull out a 2-1 extra time win (YESSSSSSSS!!!) - Nakayama is amazing for Jubilo.
CASH2000 10-11-2001, 04:56:PM Hmmmm.... i really think that france is the teem that impresses me the most wen playing against them on CPU .... Zidane Zidane Zidane Zidane he is the frinch key player :) evry time he plays against me i say to my self god plees dont do this to me :) so it's france and zidane;)
the_man 10-11-2001, 05:20:PM what level do you play on Neutral?
Anyway, I play with Holland not against them...I know better :p . There are too many players that I dread playing. R. Carlos is one, expecially when 'cusy as' Rivaldo dives 38 meters out, Prime R. Carlos time....when the ball is in the air, i stop breathing, i do the cross on my forhead and chest for my keeper. The french are a fast team, that's all i can say. No easy holes in the French to break them down you have to do 1 touch pin passing in the mid, and if you can get it wide (past Lizarazu or Thuram...by the way good luck) then you can cross and hope LeBoeuf is marking your man, cos if it is Desailly, forget it. And then with the likes of Zizou, Anelka, Djorkaef and Henry attacking you, you have to stay alert and not commit any tackles that you are not going to get the ball or the player or else...game over.
The 'smaller' nations that give me trouble are S. Korea, Ireland and Iran. For some reason these teams can be a pain in the butt....it seems like there are 30 of them on the pitch. Especially that Roy Keane, boy is that guy a presence.
Argentina, oh boy, you let Batigol turn, big mistake, he will make you pay. Lopez, right time right place kinda guy, don't lose track of him. Ortega, 5 people around him doing attacking press, 'the donkey' still seems to get past. An how can we forget 'the wizard' (Veron) in the midfield. just takes up space passes well and don't forget him on the rebounds.
Italy...the Azuri definitely Repressent, with Fillipo "offsides" Inzaghi, Vieri, Del Piero and Totti....and their defence, i mean common, it's the Azuri. Di Baggio and Albertini give you fits in the midfield and then you have to face the likes of Cannavaro, Maldini and Nesta...and in the unlikelyhood that you actually get thru, you have Toldo or Buffon to deal with..again good luck.
Chez Republic, For fun, I play Chez vs Mexico just to see the difference between Kohler and Campos, makes me laugh:p...but when i'm defending him, trust me I ain't laughing :(. This guy is almost 2 meters tall, even Stam has a field day defending him, and then with Poborski and Nedved in the attack, they can be a handful and some..
England, the best way to deaden their threat is to make Owen come back for the ball and then triple team his life. Andy Cole is a threat on Bex crosses. Scholes is a terror in the mid, just on top of your box...it's a good match up with Davids tho.
Sweden a.k.a Route 1 football. They are so dangerous....K. Anderson, Larson, oh boy. And they just take it to the wings (sometimes they dont' even wait to get on the wings) and send it Route 1....my keeper has to be alert during this game.
Brazil, Columbia. Brazil has more talent, in all the big name stars but both teams are dribbling experts. They can make sharp cuts turn my defenders inside out...hey! it's not funny! :(...so i have to play a cover defence with these guys...I tell ya, i'm awake throught this game.
Paraguay...That cardozo must have a magnet to his head cos even stam can't mark him efficiently. The Paraguay defence needs a shout out also cos boy do they sacrifice, everything ( I mean everything) to stop a shot...even the ones that go thru, you have Chilavert to deal with. Chilavert on freekicks is unbelievable, I fear him like R. Carlos.
So as you can see, there are too many great players in the game...I don't think i can choose one, I respect all of them. :)

LOL Yup, even in ISSPE2 Koller is awesome - for me, 3-5-2 with the Czech Republic and a red-status Koller I can smash any CPU team in the game on Hard - just get it to the byline and cross it into THE BIG MAN JAN - it's bread and butter baby! Even if I don't score I knock it back down to Berger and Nedved waiting on the 18 yard box to smash it home.
I can't wait to play PES with the Czech Republic and Koller.
I'm playing JLWE5 on the hardest setting now - 5 stars. I started using Jef United instead of Reysol because I like Yong Soo (#18) - he's a good forward - though I had my ass handed to me by Jubilo recently, last night I played 4 games straight against them and lost. I came back from Uni today ready to even the score, and for 3 straight hours they kicked my ass - ****ing Nakayama and that other forward, they have such a good understanding and the Jubilo defenders bottle up my star forward. I went 3 straight games without scoring a goal. Then in my penultimate game I was 2-1 down and in the last five minutes of the game I had THREE clean breakaways.
What did I do? Wide, post, wide.
I quite literally fell to my knees, controller in hand, and screamed. I was dying of thirst but didn't want to refill my glass of water - one more game I told myself. 1 minute into my lastest 'revenge match' Nakayama, the bastard, jinks past two of my defenders and rips one top corner from 20 yards out. At this point I'm ready to start crying, but I stick to my guns, I finally manage to equalize at the beggining of the second half. I say screw it and change to 3--5-2 with my entire midfield attacking bias red - Jubilo can counterattack if they want I was going to ram it down their throats. What a second half! I would be camped in the half of the pitch, they'd get a break, somehow I managed to survive, and then repeat the pattern. The game amazingly finished 1-1 (I cannot finish), sudden death OT - 5 minutes in I spring my left winger down the by line, cross over to the forward and he nips in front of the defender to glance in a header into the far corner. I went psycho screaming my head off in delight.
What a game. :)
[sorry for the tangent]
JonnyDp 11-11-2001, 12:19:AM In ISS PE1 - it was definately Croatia and Yogoslavia - breaking them down took forever.
Their sweeper covered thru balls and minimised 1-2 threats, crossing normally involved a box full of defenders. Attacking wise I never got worried by them - but I HATE going to penalties.
Nigeria have a pacy attack, if a little open in defence.

Yeah Batigoal and Ortega. I can hardly get the ball of Ortega whenever I play aginst them, I normally end up fouling him, then he gets up and score a freekick, which is not funny when it is 1-1 in the 2nd half of extra time in the last minute when you thought it was going to penalties. If you give Batistuta space he scores, as simple as that, he is also very good in the air. Ialways get someone to mark him aggresively, or I try and slide tackle him to get him injured:) .
Is I told before, I am not good (yet :) ) because I don't play that long as you guys, but a week ago I played my first game on 'hard'
Of course it was a cautious start: Holland- China :D
I managed to draw 1-1, just to give you an idea of my own level :o
With this in mind you know what kind of remarks you can expect from me :D
I find it very hard to score against Denmark (I play, of course, Holland) .
I beat most teams on normal level now, mostly with a margin of 2 goals or so, but against Denmark I lost more than once 0-1 and played a lot of 0-0's
IMHO they have a very good organized defence.....
Oh yeah, almost forgot: Holland is the best team and I agree, Davids is the best player.... (very objective opinion, of course! :D )
the_man 11-11-2001, 04:53:AM Hey guys...I forgot a team, Chile. OM, that Zamarano and Salas combination is the most deadly to me. They are both good in the air, they can take you on 1 v 1. They can shoot, there is nothing they can't do. Also their goal mouth awareness is on par with v. Niestelrooy.
bulldrig 11-11-2001, 06:55:AM Manmark Beckham and try to not let Owen get any good through balls....if that happents then u r in deep ****.
But other then that, their attacks are pretty easy to controll.
