we make ourselves good. we started from scratch and 3 years ago fatih terim came and so did hagi and through their work we became good.

whereas most european teams that are good just have money and they buy all these foreign players and stuff instead of working to make the team good. we don't have a lot of money. we don't need it. i'd like to see european teams do as well as they do with 3 to 5 foreigners. i mean, like chelsea. 11 foreigners? that's crazy. nationalism is being destroyed. there is no difference between an english team and an italian team or a spanish team and a dutch national team (alas barca).

this respect also applies to most eastern european teams, such as dinamo kiev, and maybe leeds(i don't think they have a lot of foreigners and their players are young unproven players).

and don't give me that "it's the 21st century where teams buy foreign players" crap because that doesn't justify the act. nationalism is nationalism. if teams want to really prove themselves, it's not with money, it's with work.

and yes, juventus does have a good amount of italian players compared to other italian teams but they aren't really good except for del piero and maybe conte (who's past his prime).

Same goes for Lens, Mallorca, Celta, -teams that make it far without having 100 million dollars to spend on transfer fees.

I believe in foreing players to a point, I think the idea of 5 player limit is good, to preserve national character of teams.

Objectively I think both leagues are very close.

I will say this for Greek teams, Panathinaikos made the semi-finals of Champions League in 95?, I don't think a Turkish team ever got that far.

I wanted to show you that Besiktas isn't so weak as you thought. They were eliminated this year in CL, so I gave you an example hoping you understand why Besiktas were kicked out. Some of the people here in this forum (you too) look only to this result and think, after GS nothing in Turkish league thats not true.
Besiktas had big problems this year and it looks like they are going to solve them.
I'm convinced that no Greek teams are able to beat GS and Besiktas, maybe Trabzonspor.

If Australia played Turkey in the soccer in Turkey, Turkey would win, If they played in Australia, it would probably be a draw. The NSL doesn't produce the highest standard of football but when players start scoring goals (Paramatta's steve laybutt against Hungary) you can see that the standard of players is imporving.
