With the likes of This Is Football 2002 and FIFA Football 2002 wowing the crowds out on the pitch there's a good chance that you might already have pledged allegiance to one of them for the season ahead. There's also a good chance that you'll regret your decision by the end of this review because Pro Evolution Soccer is, without a doubt, the best football game we've ever played.

Once you play Pro Evolution Soccer you won't think twice about even looking at another football game. There are better looking footie games available and maybe even new versions of titles that you've supported in the past, but this is Pro Evolution Soccer's year and you'd be mad not to give it a try.

A lot of you won't know a lot about PES - but if you have a PS2, try it, just rent it if you can't afford it. But if it's FIFA that you like as opposed to Football then fair enough.

It 's nothing new really, we already know that PES is gonna be the best game ever, but the fifa fans ou there prefer unrealistic football more than realistic football. One thing is for sure PES will outsell FIFA2002 on the PS2, I think that will be the first step of Konami killing fifa, we all know who will come out on top at the end.

How much different is PES from the ISS 2000 for the ps2 that came out last year?

I tried the ISS 2000 and didn't think much of it, the players moved jerkily like robots and the ball felt like it was tinny plastic rather than leather filled with air, the game play didnt seem much fun, but i'm considering This is Football 2002 right now, maybe PES if you can tell me its a lot better than the dreadful ISS 2000 on the PS2.

ISS 2000 has no relation to PES except for the fact that they were both published by Konami, they were made by two different development teams, ISS 2000 was made by KCEO, PES is made by KCET. PES is the sequel to ISS Pro Evolution and ISS Pro Evolution 2. I've actually played ISS 2000 on N64, it is horrible when compared to ISS PE2, but still better than Fifa. Go to the ISS forum to get more details on the game...but most will tell you its miles ahead of fifa in almost every aspect.
