Subs: Muscat, T.Vidmar, Aloisi, Scwharzer, Skoko
Who to play instead of Neville though?
manufan 18-11-2001, 11:14:AM Good question................
There is no other semi-decent right back.
Amika 19-11-2001, 12:45:AM lee bowyer.. no way.. i know he is a great player but just don't like the way he play...
ScreamDewey 19-11-2001, 12:48:AM Mr. Erikson, here's an ideal starting lineup for the next friendly
GK Richard Wright (on a good day)
LB Ashley Cole
CB Rio Ferdinand
CB Sol Campbell
RB Wes Brown (on a good day)
LM Seth Johnson (he has a cracking left foot, and this is his position, not playing a right midfielder on the left!)
CM Paul Scholes
CM Steven Gerrard (we need him fit all the time!)
RM David Beckham (who else?)
LF Robbie Fowler (when fit!)
RF Michael Owen (ditto Steven Gerrard and David Beckham)
Subs:
McManaman, Andy Cole, Kirkland, Southgate, Murphy, Butt, Mills, Sheringham, Phillips (top striker!), Carragher, Dyer (when fit).
I forgot about Brown......... he is far to inconsistant though.
Gabri Cazotto 19-11-2001, 03:40:AM My Brazilian team would be:
GK- Dida (Corinthians)
DR- Cafu (Roma)
DL- Roberto Carlos (Real Madrid)
DC- Juan (Flamengo)
DC- Lucio (Bayern Leverkusen)
MC- Emerson (Roma)
MR- Marcelinho (Santos)
ML- Rivaldo (Barcelona)
FW- Edílson (Flamengo)
FW- Denílson (Bétis)
FW- Romário (Vasco)
4-3-3
The FIFA RTWC Webmaster 19-11-2001, 05:16:AM SWEDEN
GK - 1. Magnus Hedman -(Andreas Isaksson in the future.
Currently Hedman feels like the only possible option)
LB - 5. Erik Edman (Made a good impression against England)
RB - 2. Karl Corneliusson
CD - 3. Patrik Andersson (C)
CD - 4. Olof Mellberg
DM - 6. Tobias Linderoth
LM - 9. Fredrik Ljungberg
RM - 7. Niklas Alexandersson
AM - 10. Anders Svensson (I still think he is our most creative player, and the only one with a good long range shot)
CF - 11. Henrik Larsson
CF - 8. Marcus Allbäck (Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the option for this position)
Coach: Sven-Göran Eriksson (He's a Swede and I want him as manager. End of story! Sack our current two loosers! I bet they'll screw up our chances in the WC as they did in EURO2000!)
On the bench I'd like some new faces like for example
Pontus Farnerud
Johan Elmander
Kennedy Bakircioglü
Christoffer Andersson
Yeah, and I hope Jesper Blomqvist gets back in shape again! Maybe he could play as LB?
D.Tristan900 19-11-2001, 09:29:AM For England:
GK: Richard Wright
RB: Gary Neville
CB: Rio Ferdinand
CB: Sol Campbell or Jamie Carragher
LB: Ashley Cole
RM: Mcmanamen or David Beckham
CM: Paul Scholes
CM: Danny Murphy
LM: David Beckham or David Dunn
CF: Michael Owen
CF: Emile Heskey

DC: keown
DC: ferdinand
DC: cole
CM: gerrard
CM:butt
Right: beckham
Left: dyer
Attacking CM: scholes
FC: owen
FC: phillips
i wish people would stop saying phillips is sh!te and all the rest of it, i wish sven would give him a chance to perform as well for england as he does for sunderland. come on sven give him more than a 45 minute chance.
Phillips requires a tall striker to play with like Quinn, otherwise he is not very good. Unfortunatly England doesn't have a tall player so he doesn't fit in very well.
jackie4 19-11-2001, 10:41:AM If they were all playing regularly and on form I would have
Sullivan Weir Elliott Matteo Naysmith McNamara Ferguson Cameron McCann Hutchison and Booth
Can't stop the rush... 19-11-2001, 11:09:AM Cañizares-Valenica
Hierro-Real Madrid
Salgado-Real Madrid

Just some of the people that should be there in 2002.:crazyboy: :D
hitmanuk2k 19-11-2001, 11:09:AM as long as phillips have some service from midfield and crosses he does fine, he creates his own chances most the time anyway

The FIFA RTWC Webmaster 20-11-2001, 02:16:AM And when did England win anything? In '66?
They won the Tournio De France or somewthing like that beore the WC98 in france. They played against France and Italy beating them both, and then drew or lost to Brazil, i can't quite remember....

sheva7 20-11-2001, 09:28:AM wat about danny mills at right back instead of neville? mills is damn good, a better defender than neville (check out the opta stats) and better going down the wing. he is cool.
Keown might be a good right back, but he is getting on a bit.

has everyone forgot about kieron dyer or something. he is back from injury by next week when he will resume full training again. he can play on either side of midfield (and also as a wing back).....so thats problem solved.
He is right-footed though, still no true left footer.....
manufan 20-11-2001, 12:47:PM Hmmmm.......................No one mentioned Luke Chadwick. he might not be the prettiest but he is a natural left winger and he is damn good at it.

mhflierman 21-11-2001, 11:47:PM For Holland:
GK: Van der Sar
RD: Reiziger
CD: Stam (if suspended then Hofland)
CD: F. de Boer
LD: Numan/Van Bronckhorst
RM: Zenden/R. de Boer
CM: Davids
CM: Cocu
LM: Overmars
RF: Van Niselrooy
LF: Kluivert
And for England: (Since we're not going to the WC)
GK: Anyone but Martin and Seaman.. maybe Wright/Kirkland
RD: G. Neville (not world-class but reliable)
CD: Ferdinand
CD: Campbell
LD: Cole
RM: Beckham (he'll always play)
CM: Scholes (he'll play every game as well)
CM: Gerrard (same goes for Steve)
LM: That is a problem yes. McMananman maybe or give Dunn a chance.
LF: Sheringham/Heskey
RF: Owen/Fowler/Cole
The three players that will always play are Becks, Scholes and Gerrard. All three are magnificent... I find Owen inconsistent and he's often injured. The forwards should be rotated...

Addition to squad : Kleber Säärenpää who plays for Sweden is Finnish he should play for us. :)
Matt Riopelle 22-11-2001, 10:32:AM I noticed out of all the english squads posted, none of you mentioned Owen Hargreaves. Well if you think he doesn't deserve a spot on the squad, y was he capped with england? He could have been considered a soccer superstar, or a legend here in Canada. But in england he will just be considered a mediocre footballer behind David Beckham, Michael Owen, and all the other superstar midfielders in England. I really wish he would have chosen Canada as his country to play for. Im sure some of you English felt the same way when Ryan Giggs chose Wales over England and he could have won more in England. Although Owen wouldn't have won much here in canada, he would have been a major influence on our national squad. But o well you cant blame him for his decision. Our stupid youth coaches shouldn't have cut him from our youth squad.
Cheers,
Matt
