when will konami realise that american soccer gamers are just as sick of FIFA as their
european counterparts?konami make the best soccer games out there but they do not look
as though they will be bringing PRO EVOLUTION to our shores.FIFA have made some crappy games
(2000,2001 and now 2002) but they are released worldwide.i think konami underestimate the market for a
great soccer game in the states.just look at how many different soccer leagues are beamed into our homes
on cable tv.dozens! now if that isnt a good market base i dont know what is.
konami did bring out mls extra-time but i dont see the point.why would you substitute all the top european teams
and a master league mode for mls teams and not even an edit feature??this is what they did with the release of that
game.the european version(pal) had about twice as many options and better teams and competitions.
every soccer game that comes out for PS2 over here in america has MLS splattered all over it.like its the only
league americans would be interested in.as far as i can see,no-one gives a monkeys about the MLS over here, but i know for a fact that a lot of people love to watch the european soccer on cable.why watch part timers in the MLS when you can see the masters of europe?well that goes the same way in videogames.
come on KONAMI...we know your the masters, dont just show europe...show the world!!!!

and sick of it.lets hope konami do something for us before the world cup.i couldnt handle
watching the world cup without a good soccer game to play in between matches.

Glad to hear that European football ;) is so popular in the USA.

I think that the only way to get Konami to release the game in the USA is to let them know that you want it....ie. contact them by e-mail/letter, badger them, harass them, kick their boney, Jap asses.

I can understand your frustration. Konamia seem to make some strange decisions when it comes to their ISS games.

My main gripe is that they limit the number club teams in the game so we have to make do with the usual list of elitist top European clubs. . Why can't they just give us a whole pile of club sides and leagues...it's only data for god's sake..it would take a couple of weeks to add a pile of extra clubs and leagues into the game. And if there are problems with obtaining the rights to use the real names, just use mis-spelled names like they do with some of the players

And to simply ignore one of the biggest gaming markets in the world and not release the game in the USA is absurd.

Anyway, you have my sympathies. But on the bright side, I've only got 6 days to wait until it is released here and I will keep you informed of just how good it is...I'm sure that will make up for you not being able to play it.:D

if it comes to the crunch i will fork out the money to get my PS2 chipped
and i will import PRO EVOLUTION from the UK.
as for you keeping me informed about how good the game is,please do.
it will hurt but i would appreciate your comments.until then i will be stuck playing
FIFA 2002 *SNIFF*
all you american soccer gamers out there,do yourselves a favour and email
KONAMI like i have.tell them we want PRO EVOLUTION.
beg,plead...do whatever it takes!:D

You guys should start a thread and try to get all the American and other soccer gaming nuts living in the US to write to Konami. It's a start!!:) Post an e-mail addy that everyone should send an e-mail to...or several e-mails to for that matter!!

That sounds good to me... you start bombarding them with e-mails and the dollar signs will fill their eyes at the prospect of making a killing off everyone's frustration with FIFA. I've yet to play FIFA02 so I'm holding judgement on it.

Get this... someone responded to my post in the TIF forum and said that Sony is coming out with it here in the U.S. except i will be called World Tour Soccer 2002... Crappy name... they should just call it THIS IS SOCCER! I e-mailed Sony North America about it and those Dopes didn't even know that TIF was a Sony title in Europe! I've heard good things about TIF but I just have a gut feeling they're going to F**K it up for the American market!

Anyway I hear all this ranting about ISS and Pro Evolution... I'm amazed there isn't a PS2 version of this game out HERE yet. Personally (and KONAMI should PAY ATTENTION if they want to sell a soccer game HERE IN THE U.S.!) AND NO IT DOESN'T HAVE TO HAVE MLS PLASTERED ALL OVER IT!!! I don't mind MLS being in it but I'd only be interested in a game that has CLUB LEAGUES (particularly European) in addition to international sides. Realistic KITS and editing FLEXIBILITY for kits, team names (if you can't put the real names due to licensing) and player names is also just as important as great gameplay. If it doesn't have these features then I don't care how great the gameplay is... I WON'T BUY IT. PLAYING WITH ONLY INTERNATIONAL SIDES AND LIMITED CLUB OFFERINGS GETS BORING! LACK OF FLEXIBILITY AND CREATION CONTROLS IS DISAPPOINTING. I'M SURE MANY OTHERS WOULD AGREE. WE WANT A GAME THAT CAPTURES THE REALISM OF THE GAME ON ALL LEVELS. WITH WHAT CAN BE DONE ON THE PS2 THIS SHOULDN'T BE THAT DIFFICULT.

IT'S NOT THAT DIFFICULT TO GIVE US WHAT WE WANT! GOOD GAMEPLAY COMBINED WITH REALISM...REAL STADIUMS, REAL LEAGUES, REAL KITS ETC. Everybody loves what EA has done with FIFA in terms of the graphics, kits, leagues and editing/creation capabilities but hate the gameplay. Add some good gameplay to all that and you'll have something that every soccer fan in the U.S. and the WORLD will want to buy. Jeez... I'd like to get a job as a game producer because the people working for these game companies are clueless!

The funny thing is, KCET have actually done the hard part...they've got the game play damn near spot on. No other game comes close in terms of gameplay.

All KCET have to do to make the perfect product is give us proper club football and editable teams/kits/leagues with promotion and relegation.....

I agree international football does become boring very quickly and I don't like the Master League - it's ficticious & elitist, I don't support any of the teams in it and so it lacks the atmosphere that it should and could so easily have. Just let us change the team names and colours!!!

Sensible soccer did it all years ago...all of the clubs/leagues from around the world...it would be so easy to implement into Pro Evo....godammit !!!

I'm gonna send them an e-mail !!! :D
