i was playing a friendly and in the shootout it was tied 4-4. The other team took the kick and made it 5-4 then i made it 5-5 and 6-6 and 7-7 and finally ended 8-9. But i read somebody say that if the teams were tied after 5 kicks the 6th kick would win the match but it did not happen 2 me.

Does this happen only if the score is 5-5 after 5 kicks each?

This sounds as the earlier penalty shootout rules. In the early days it was normal when it was tied after 5 pens that there was another serie of 5 pens.
