After being told on Friday that PES was going to be released on Monday (today), it was the longest weekend I have had. Finally, today arrived, & down I went off to my local game store to get PES. I was so confident that they would have it, that I didnt even ask, I just said "One PES please". The guy looked at me like I was from out of space. "We dont have that yet" he said.

This is the same guy that promised me on Friday that they would have it in. I didnt even say goodbye - I just turned around, let out some fairly bad words (which I wont repeat here) & walked away. I didnt even ask him why it hadnt arrived or when it was going to.

I have spent most of today driving around to every bloody store asking the same question, with the same response as they gave me last week - "er, not sure when its coming in exactly - should have come in by now - probably end of the week mate".

I reckon it would be quicker for me to fly off to Europe tomorrow & buy it from over there, than wait for it to arrive over here in Australia.

Does anyone in Australia know when it is coming out now?

If you do, let me know please. I cannot wait any more - this is torture I tell you!!!

bad luck, I know the feeling, mate. Maybe you can order it from Europe over the internet?

Anyway, at least it's not all bad news, I mean Australia did just play Uruguay in the World Cup Qualifier.....oh, they got beat 3-0
:p ...never mind

yeah, how much more can an Aussie football fan take in one day huh?

I was that much off football today, the last thing i could think about was getting a computer football game and playing it, it brings back too many painful memories to play with Australia on it now :(

But as the day went on, i slowly started to get back to reality (i think), and even went into the local store to look for PES, but it wasn't there.....I have asked the same questions, and get the same answer...blank responses, and not sure etc, it really is painstaking. I have also been told it should be in this week...but who's got the facts on that?

I have heard it's distributed by sega-ozisoft....well pretty normal response from computer stores for games released by them...they for some reason keep us all waiting

I'm keen to get on PES and right the wrongs of early this morning with Aus v Uru, but i dont think i could bring myself to play the game on the PS2, i think it would just gutter me more, and bring back bad memories all over again.

So i'm keen for PES, but it's shattering to look forward to a football game when your nation has been tossed out of the world cup on our normal once again version of Russian Roulette system!!!! As if the scar of Iran had ever dissapeared, The wounds are still very fresh from this morning :(

Im in Melbourne, so I call up a PS2 game store I found in the yellow pages. I say hello, and tell him that I'm looking for a game which was supposed to come out today. He goes "well I can't help ya if you don't tell me which game" that arrogant bastard. So I say "well if you didn't cut me off, I would've told ya", so I ask for PES, and he says "no". I ask him if he's heard of it, and he also replies "no" and hangs up, that fecking arsehole.

Mate! Just think about how good it was when tht penalty hit the net in the first game!

When Scotland lost to England in the play-off for Euro 2000 I was gutted - we lost the 1st game 2-0 by not playing well at all (neither did they but to play badly and win 2-0 can't be bad) but we beat them 1-0 at Wembly, played them off the park and came so close (like we always do) to doing it.

Fu(k them! the pain I felt disappeared when I was able to watch England make an absolute fool of themselves in the tournament!

Australia didn't play bad at all, they played well in the second half and got some chances. The 2-0 came on the moment I expected an equalizer :(
My country didn't make it too so I know what you feel.
I say it again, the qualifying system sucks! Ukraine out, Chech rep. out Holland out and Australia all the time has to qualify playing a lot of games ending against a very tough opponent (Iran wasn't that bad either).
I like a qualifying system like in World Cup icehocky, with A-countries, B-countries and C-countries, playing for their own world championship. With promotion/relegation rules.
That, however never will happen as the important people at the top of FIFA are dependent on the vote's from the weaker footbal-countries. Those weaker countries want to keep the chance of immediatly qualify for the Big World cup....
If the big boys at the top change it, they loose support from those countries and loose the next election for their job...:(

Funnily enough, I replayed Australia v Uruguay on PES this morning - I was Australia and won 4-0.

It's about time Oceania had one team automatically qualifying for the World Cup. The play-off's between European countries is fair enough but play-offs between different continents is going a bit too far.

Anyway, I think that some of the best teams won't be going to the World Cup next year - Czech Republic, Holland, Romania, (cough) Scotland ;) . They should have their own tournament and invite crap teams like Australia to play too :p .

The only reason Australia don't make the world cup is the stupid play-off thing. It dates from the days when Oceania was just an embarrassment in terms of football - NZ made it in 82 but that's it, right? If you're gonna let Senegal in, you can't expect a group winner to have to play off against someone who came fifth. Makes no sense. But then, if the Oceania winner qualified automatically, Australia would be there every single time.

I 'm English, so I have no interest in it, but I just wanted to see Harry Kewell in the World Cup.

Hey, Australia isnt that crap - we just cant score thats all (thats not important is it?!?). Thats why I wanted PES so bad yesterday, at least I would have something that could make me smile just once in the day. Oh well, life goes on..........its only another four years away till we try & qualify again (when PES 4 is out - in Australia we probably still wont have the first PES 2)

Well Australia is good enough to qualify, and despite yesterdays performance and big loss, I still think our side can match it with teams like this.

Australia gave the ball away in that first 20 mins, which got Uruguay on a role, if Australia had just kept posession Uruguay would have struggled to get into the game, and the longer it went they would have started to panic, and I think australia could have controlled it. As we saw in the second half, by Australia keeping posession in the middle of the park and taking control, Uruguay could hardly get in the game, and the second goal came against the run of the play. Austrlaia can do it, keep posession, they have proven it, they just seemed to buckle early in the game before they settled into the game which cost them big time. They let themselves down!.

The whole thing is maybe having to qualify through another continent is not fair, but the big factor is Australia cannot afford to lose a game in qualification, which is even harsher.

For example, Uruguay lost a number of games in qualification, and stay in it, Australia lost 1 game in the whole qualification process, and we are out.

In a one off game anything can happen, sides are entitled to a poor performance somewhere along the road, but for australia one bad game means they are out.

Look at Germany, lost 5-0 to England, a poor performance, but still had the chance to qualify from there and did.

Australia lost 1 game, and is out.

The same with France 98, Australia did not lose a game at all in the whole qualification process, instead they were bundeled out by the away goals rule.

The simple fact of the matter is Australia ha sto play a cup final just to get there........now that's not fair!

I think the Russian Roulette system is just not right.
