I don't think it has much to do with football, but more with people not liking the French nation.

Please don't ask me to expand on why though http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

because nobody loves a winner. I think though, it's because they don't have the overwhelming style that past French teams have. It's much like the reaction to the Brazil team of '90 when they instituted a hybrid of Northern Europe and Brazilian football to adapt to modern demands. And.....I think people generally like World Champions to be explosive and dominant, as opposed to effective and economic. Another exampled analogy would be Sampras and Agassi. Sampras is the better player as France is the better team, but thhey are both ruthlessly effective rather than suave or play with elan. Thats my explanation.......I could be wrong.

I think it is because a lot of the players are not French and people see the French as taking shortcuts to win. Why develop players in France when you can give 10 africans citizenship and have them play?

the people that hate them are all defenders in the world because having anelka and henry come at you is scary as hell

Who cares as long as we win.
At least we are not as unpopular as the English team. It is even unpopular in England.
Allez la France!!!!!

Apart from the fact that most of the french players were probably born in France, what's the problem if someone emigrates to an other country and wants to represent that country in a sport? That just means that they can never represent the country of their birth. That's their choice, no-one elses.
Nobody complains when their local team hires a legion of foreigners to win trophies, do they? I know it's not the same thing but the principal is there. A country is just a larger locality.
Get over it. France have a good team, they are world champions and have every chance of making it a double with Euro 2K.

Don't you understand you Garlic reeking inbred hick?

The trouble with the French is that they are so damn French.

Last year I stayed with a French family for a week. They stole 200 Francs from me and when one of them stayed with us he refused to speak English whereas I was forced to speak French there.

Is it any wonder you are so reviled?
