Hi
For some reason even though the team has been asigned with the kit in Fed 99 it still doesn't always work in the actual game.
Simply go into the team edit page, and assign them the correct kit here, you'll know if it's the right 1 as the kit appears edited here.

or even better,
go to custom edit and go to man u .
choose "reset this team" from the bottom.

if u keep all ur teams like this i find u get less problems editing.

i will explain.

there are two types of files with all the team info on it.

there are the .dbi files in the fifa99/data/cmn/fe folder. these hold all the original data from when u installed. FEd changes these files.

when u edit teams within the game FIFA99 writes these changes to a bunch of .db files , that are kept in the fifa99/user folder. these files aren't there when u first install fifa, because u haven't edited anything. there are a few of them for all the different things, ie team management, transfers, custom player and custom teams.

.db files, if they exist for a team, will override the .dbi files.
so if u make a change in Fed, altering the .dbi file, and there is a .db file with info for that team, then the .db file will override any changes u have made in Fed to the .dbi file. CONFUSED!!?

in ur case what would ve happened is that the .db custom team file had a setting for man u, and when u changed the .dbi file for man u, it didnt take any notice, cos it had the .db file. Hence if u go reset this team, it will revert to the what it thinks is the original settings in the .dbi file, that u have edited in FEd.
Get it!?? probly a bit wierd im not sure, it took me a while to get a grasp on everything.

i always change the .dbi files, in FEd. if u change .db files a lot of not-nice crap happens , like team names being shortened( "manchester utd" goes to man utd", "aston villa" goes to "aston vil") and all sorts of other crap that u dont want. its all to do with the size of the files i guess , im not sure.

the exception to this is transfers. i do all my transfers in fifa( they get written to xfers.db ), because when i tried to do em in FEd, it would duplicate the player, leaving him at his old club as well as putting a copy of him at the new club.

anyway , yeh , thats how its done.

post us back if u have any questions.

cheers
