View Full Version : problem with away kits??
bergkamp23 05-12-2001, 01:12:PM When i play FIFA 2002 , a lot of times the away team is wearing their HOME kit - just like in FIFA 2001 - so that no matter what, both teams are in their home kits - it looks really stupid
does any one else have this problem? its really annoying and takes away from the aesthetic realism of the game
is there any way to fix this??????
KNVB rules 06-12-2001, 04:46:AM I noticed that also, however when I posted something about it or even if anyone else had experienced it, no one responded. But No sorry, I don't know how to fix it.
INFESTA 06-12-2001, 12:08:PM I think I can answer.
The thing is: Football is NOT a US Sport. So, instead of away jerseys, clubs have alternative jerseys. That means Real Madrid, for instance, will play with the white kit unless it faces another club with a white jersey (like Vasco da Gama). Try this match and you'll see one of them change kits (or both).
However, if the US league uses the american kits system (home/away), then you should complain directly to EA and ask for more realism........................................... .................................................. .........just kiddin' here :D LIKE THEY WOULD LISTEN...
altek 06-12-2001, 06:09:PM Precisely. unless there is a similarity in color, the jersey's won't change to the away ones.
KNVB rules 06-12-2001, 06:39:PM So what you are saying is that psg and troyes, should not both play with there dark blue jerseys, when they play... Because that is precisely what happens.

It's called kit clashing. If two teams have similar jersey color, then one of the team will change color. Otherwise, they will both use their home team. There are some bugs however as noted with Arsenal and Feyonoord. What EA need to do is to implement an option for us to choose what jersey to use before a match start for both the player and CPU.
Gareth 06-12-2001, 06:53:PM There is a way that you can make each team where their home kit and home and they away when they are away. It can take a while but it works, well for me anyway.
What you need to do is go to the Creation Centre, then Team Edit, then select the team you wish to congifure. Now then you select the option to use a custom kit so that you change it using the colour selector and the style. Now what you do for the home kit is make the main colour for the shirt WHITE, then go to the away kit and make the main colour for the away shirt BLACK. Then revert back to the proper kit that you have (with sponsors and badges etc.) and save it. Do this for each team in that league (all the same) and then they should where their home kit at home and the away when they are away.

I don't know why you think it's not realistic, in the English Premiership, an away team will nearly always wear their first team/home strip, unless there is a clash of colours.
So, if Newcastle are playing at home to Arsenal, newcastle wear their black and white home strip, and Arsenal would wear their red and white first team strip.
But if Arsenal wear playing away to Man U, then Arsenal would wear their gold second/away strip, because of the colour clash.

Now that's something I've been wishing for.
Don't know why Madden has that option and FIFA and NBA LIVE don't. These are all EA games, I can't undestand this at all
The True 07-12-2001, 05:44:AM not enough the bull**** in world class that you
defenders get stuck etc...
now Im playing with Real Madrid (home) Vs. Deportivo La Coruna (away)
both got plain white kits!!!
go figure whose your player and whose not...
I guess I'll download new Depo kits...
so I ask you all: did we pay half a price on the game?
so why do we get only half a game???
I mean, if you have to fix so many things...
you might as well call it half a game...
:monkey:
El_GaLLo 07-12-2001, 08:18:AM You heard of Half life? They should call this game Half fifa. LOL:D

The difference is that half-life was a decent game.

yeah fair enuf, I see your point. I think it just irritated me a bit more than it should have simply because before i got into fifa i played the nba live series a LOT and i enjoyed the variation of seeing my fav team in different kits. also, because of my prev experience with fifa games, the crowd reaction in fifa really pisses me off also...and also when a team is losing 4-0 and they score to make it 4-1 and they celebrate like they won the WC - i hope they fix those things in a patch or something

NBA? Is that basketball?
I agree with you about the celebration, it's really stupid the way EA did that.
