I don't know if it's the same in other countries but in Holland the team who wins the Cup competition for the reserve teams has a chance to particepate in the cup for the first teams. Last year Ajax 2 won the cup so they are currently in the Dutch Cup (for frst teams) and today they beat FC Twente and they are going to the quarterfinals. If Ajax wins both teams will be in the quarter.
