I need help !!!! My sidewinder Game Pad Prod oesn't configure any button the I can only use the 6 front buttons.....

I don't know if the problem is related to the CD or the game pad

This is the dumb person's explanation:

1. Uninstall all the Sidewinder software (through add/remove programs in Control Panel).
2. Go to Control Panel, then to System. Select Device Manager, then go to Sound, Video and Game Controller. Select the Microsoft Sidewinder and delete it.
3. Re-start you computer.
4. Your computer should automatically detect the new hardware and install it.
5. DO NOT INSTALL THE SIDEWINDER SOFTWARE.
6. Play FIFA.

I had the same problem with my Sidewinder controller a few weeks back. I uninstalled the software too, and now it's okay.
Does anyone play without the assisted controller mode?

I do and it is not easy. You have to direct your passes and shots yourself. Trying to pick the far post for a goal is so far impossible! LOL. But I'll get it!!!

Braffit, do you have a 360 degree gamepad. I thought the game would be better if you could play without assisted passing. I have to play with assisted passing because I have a MS SideWinder (only 8 directions f#ck) and I can't seem to curl my crosses even though I can curl everything else :mad:

I followed all of the instructions, but when I restarted my computer, it installed the microsoft sidewinder game drivers.

Any ideas on how to override the sidewinder drivers?

I obviously uninstalled the software already.

When i play with my friend fifa 02 and he has the keyboard and i have the sidewiner forcefeedback.It always make to me 1-2 with the ball.There is only one way with barcelona that i have tried to press the same time A,B,C,D and move the button over the shift.

sounds like a backup somewhere in windows directory..look for it

I tried the same thing...
I followed the steps one by one but the only thing that happened was that in the configure options now I had the L and R triggers but they don't work...


I see other people have the same problem so I don't think it's a CD problem

With Sidewinder ... when you uninstall the Microsoft drivers and reboot, Windows will install it's own Win 98 drivers (if you have Win 98). I have the 180 degree SideWinder Gamepad Pro. Works okay.

To curl the ball, when you press the "C" button to power-up and shoot, you will have to press one of your trigger buttons before the ball is kicked. It will curl. Takes practice to get the coordination right. I'm getting the hang of it, slowly. I finally beat Bayern Munich with Arsenal at World Class level.

:D Oops!! I have the 360 degree controller. 180 would obviously be useless.

In fifa 2001 when you had a corner or a free kick, using the shoulder buttons the arrow would bend to each side......
this happens in 2002??

The only way I could make the sidewinder work was to reinstall Win ME after that you can use the sidewinder without problems, you have to reinstall it because even if you delete the sidewinder software it leaves some mark in windows

My game doesn't recognize that i have a microsoft sidewinder gamepad pro... it thinks its some sort of gravis... thats what the picture looks like when i choose my controller... In the options menu when i try to configure my controler, it says sidewinder gamepad pro... and all the buttons are there... but then when i get into the game .. it looks like a gravis gamepad... and the buttons are not what i made them!!! worse yet, even if i get used to the game, when i play online... its different again!!! All this would be fixed if it just properly recognized my gamepad but it doesn't... what the **** do i do??

You need to verify if the Sidewinder is supported by Win XP. You also need to verify if FIFA 2002 is supported by Win XP. There are no problems with Win 2000, which is what I have.
