I'm a FIFA newbie so I'm not sure if this is normal function of this game.
Why won't the game allow me to control my player and move into the position I want when the ball kicked by one of the cpu players??!
For instance, when the cpu has a Corner Kick I can't get my highlighted player into a position to block the pass from the cpu's Kicker to it's Shooter! I try to move my player IN BETWEEN the Shooter and the Kicker but I don't have control of him (even though he is highlighted) and the cpu always puts him out of the way to give the Shooter a clean shot at the net! I don't have control of my player until the Shooter is ready to get a shot off! I don't know all of the rules of FIFA but isn't the cpu cheating??
Is this just a common annoyance of this game that I'll just have to put up with? Is there a patch that might allow me to control my player ALL the time?
I'm not going to install the Extreme Gameplay Patch because it will make the gameplay harder for me. I know some of you guys think the World Class Level is too easy but I'm having a hard time competing at the Pro Level right now!

OK... i've played fifa 2000 up to 2002, and i dont' think your problem happens with me... but i see your frustration. Just try to holder header as soon as the set piece taker kicks the ball. I know it's not the best way to defend, but I dont' see any other way. It's probably not much help... sorry

Why you can't control players in mid air?

CAUSE YOU AIN'T INSTALLED MY UPDATE! :D

No, it's not actually harder, but it does take time to get used to the new shooting and passing, but it's actually easier to pass the ball round, but harder to score and wiggle!

I ain't forcing you to download my updates, i'm just saying that if you did try it, then went back to the original file, then you'll know what a balloon looks like when it's kicked around a football pitch! lol ;)

According to your Read Me file, your Patch(es) make the gameplay more difficult for both myself and the cpu. Am I wrong on this??:confused:
It looks like you're trying to make the World Class Level more difficult.
What does your patch do to the Pro Level?

O.K., if I install the Patch will I be abele to UNINSTALL IT CLEANLY without having to reinstall the game?

I'm not try to denigrate your efforts Nick Clubman. I appreciate you trying to make this a better game!:)
But I'm still learning this game and I'm usually getting DOMINATED at the Pro Level!:( Even when I'm using good teams.

That's fine m8, no probs.

Just for the info, you can uninstall the file, without uninstalling the whole game, it will only get rid of my file, but maybe in the future, I'll make it so when you uninstall it, it's put the original ini file by EA on.

As for loosing at Pro Level, you'll just have to get good possession and instead of passing, try and take on as many defenders as possible and then when needed or desired, go for a pass or a 1-2 and if the players are marked, try crossing the ball down the winger, or up front for your striker to run on!

I installed your A.I. Fix because I was getting frustrated by the original Gameplay. I must say that I like the changes so far. My shots aren't as accurate but neither are the stinkin' cpu's!
I have one question however: I only installed the latest "aifixv1.33" without installing the "gameplayv1.33" patch.
Do I need to install BOTH in order to get the full effect or is the "aifixv1.33" a separate patch without any other requirements??

Good question!

In reply to this, you DON’T need both. The AI FIX v1.33 IS, FIFA gAmEpLaY UPDATE 2002 v1.33. The reason I call it AI FIX and not v1.34 is because all it 'fixes' is the AI and a bit of shooting.

The next update will be something special to those who enjoy my updates! ;)
