On friday when the draws were made for the CL and UEFA cup Fifa announced that it wanted to make football(soccer) everywhere the same across the globe.
that means that we won´t have the problem anymore of clubs not wanting to release players for international matches etc.
It will also mean that all the international competitions (eg. african nations cup european chaps and copa america)will be played at the same time.
some countries might also have to reduce their leagues.
The idea is good....but will it ever work??

No I think the excitement will totally go. The European Cup is always the most watched tournament (after Olympics and World Cup).

I think the media won't never pay that much attention to the other tournaments.
Suposse EC and the South American Cup are at the same time?

I feel the same way about that Fifa wants the World Cups every 2 years. It was always a rush to win the cup. For us it was always supurb to see who would kick the country which won it 4 years ago. If a country a country, which never won the cup, wins it. It isn't that great and amazing anymore.

No, it won't work. I heard about it a few weeks back, and this is what it would mean for England -

*Premiership reduced to 18 teams
*FA Cup final in (wait for it) November (!!!!!!)

How stupid. However, a Scottish league would have to have 18 teams as well. So Scottish league would be -

*Rangers
*Celtic
*Dundee U.
*Dundee
*Hearts
*Hibs
*Killie
*Aberdeen
*Motherwell
*St Johnstone
*St Mirren
*Dunfermline
*Falkirk
*Raith Rovers
*Livingston
*Inverness
*Ayr
*Morton

Some of those teams, my god...

Arsenal dude:

The European Cup may be the most watched thing where you live, but I bet that if England and Germany were playing a important match at the same time Brasil and Argentina were playing for the Copa America, almost all of the media attention in South America would be on the Copa America match! Yeah, the European Cup may be more important to the European media, but dont underestimate the passion for futbol in South America. I bet both matches would get a fair amount of coverage.
