In Midfield have Rivaldo come and move Giggs. Also I would like to see a good playmaker in the middle with Keane, either Zidane or Veron.

Last upfront get a striker that has future potential, Micheal Owen or Ronaldinho.

Manchester must act like a modern club and start realizing that having Dennis Irwin at 34 is really dead wood. Eventually you must start replacing players and like Juventus which has let go of Vialli, Jugovic, Vieri etc they have remained competitive.

Unless Manchester wants to wait until 2020 for another Champions league run they better make a choice. Are they a professional club where winning with the best possible players matter, or are they a charity club where all that matters is the respect and loyalty for bringing up such excellent talent.

Excuse me? denis irwin, dead wood? He's as good now as when he signed! Whats the point selling him when theres no problem? As soon as he does start to lose it they have players to replace him (P.Neville, Silvestre, Curtis, Clegg} all these players would stroll into most teams line-ups! And as for moving Giggs, what are you on about? Its a fact that it is impossible to get proper wingers anymore and united have the best two in the world! Buying a load of foreigners won't restore national pride! look at arsenal, chelsea they are full of foreigners, Utd are one of the few teams in the league who can field a full english side, and one which could compete for trophies, i'd like to see arsenal or chelsea give that a try!

And Juventus getting rid of that dead wood Vieri, is obviously the best thing they ever did!

Man U, Bahhhhh! Who cares. I'm sick of hearing about them and the Italians. Standards? The only good thing about Serie A is the top 7 or 8 teams because that's where the money is and hence the good players. From Perugia on down to Cagliari is total crap.

And can we get Yorke off the top of the forum pages! There are plenty of other better players that could be up there. MC hammer, when people state their opinions and preferences, great, but when they start making statements with no proof or back-up that really upsets me. So Man utd can field a full english side that can compete ? And Man utd isn't full of foreigners ? Hmmm.... Bosnich, van der gouw, irwin, taibi, stam, johnsen, berg, silvestre, keane, giggs, cruyff, yorke, blomqvist, solsjkaer are all non-english players, doesn't leave man utd with much left cept their youth squad. Man utd isn't the best 'english' side as so many of you like to think, they owe a huge share of their success over the years to foreigners such as Keane,Schmeichel and Cantona.

They've been doing it their way and succeeding in Europe. They took English doubles, and now the treble. Everyone knows they are (or were last season) the best team on earth. Why meddle? Don't you think they know what they're doing?

Only one thing I want to pay attention to, (and so does ManU - they haven't found any answer yet) is the goalkeeper. With all due respect to Bosnich and Van der Gouw (Taibi? gimme a break), they can't and will never replace Schmeichel. Regarding abilities, how can you even compare? (Although Schmeichel had a rough start as well. Perhaps Bosnich will improve...but perhaps not)

And you have to factor the offensive capablities (throws across the HALFWAY LINE!) and captaining ability (Schmeichel is rumoured to lead Manchester as least as much as Keane) and organizing the defense (he yells for a reason) having a big-shot like Schmeichel charge at you is a little more terrifying than a substitute keeper or the like. Manchester has been wrestling with this problem as well, and I say: Enough! Get a big shot! My god, you're the richest club in the world! Get Kahn, or Chilavert, or SOMEONE! I like Bosnich as much as the next guy, but....(not as much as Denmark's one and only)....

And I'd like to point out that last year United had no such problems in Europe: Tough games vs. moles like Croatia Zagreb and Graz, and lost no game throughout the entire tournament. We need Schmeichel!!

I think we have only just started playing, untill the Valencia we were just cruising, Fiorentina woke us up and now we probably won't lose for a year, remember Middlesborough last year, we won almost every game after that!

Me thinks your view of what ManU should do is quite foolish (no offense) .. the line-up you have "dreamed up" is foolish. What makes you think that these teams would give up these players?? Rivaldo? ZeZu?? Ronaldihno?? Owen? These players are except for Zidane, are all future FIFA players of the year, you think their teams will let them go?? That is craziness. Richest Team or not ...
