My poor old Gravis Gamepad Pro bit the dust last night and I need to get another. I will probably buy another Game Pad Pro, (possibly the USB version), but before I do can I ask the enlightened masses if there is there a better pad now available for Fifa games. I notice that EA are now using Microsoft Sidewinders in the manual for FAPLS and Fifa2000. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

The MS-Sidewinder is the prefered gamepad by the game. But a Gravis Gamepad Pro is also very good. I myself preffer the keyboard.

MS Sidewinder, although I bought a second one recently and it felt very cheap and crapply made compared to my original.

MS Sidewinder is easily the best for its design and gameport on it for other Sidewinders. I've seen a new MS sidewinder gamepad pro which looks quite nice but I haven't tried it.

The Gravis Xterminator is by far the best gamepad out there for ANY GAME. It is slighly more expensive than the misrosoft one though, but you pay for quality.

If I got it right, MS Sidewinder has a port that serves to connect another MS Sidewinder and in that way you can play with both of them in fifa2K?

Steve just stick with Gravis gamepad pro it's the best, buy the USB one it's more simple to plug in. I myself have two of them so if one wears out I have another to replace it mind you they have a very long life with me. the Gravis gamepad pro last the longest so get one now.

Hi,

I am still using my good old GRAVIS GRIP devices, 8 buttons, too bad they don't sell them anymore.

I've just bought a Microsoft sidewinder gamepad pro. It is pretty cool and it works in a proportional mode as well as the standard mode. It works well with FIFA 2000, the only problem is that on the throw in, corners mode instead of getting letters on the screen I get the colours instead. Does anyone know how to change this?
I think I just have to wait for an update from microsoft. Other than this problem I recommend the gamepad pro, it's silver too, which is cool!

Thanks folks, I finally purchased a Microsoft Sidewinder Game Pad Pro, and hopefully, will get a Gravis GPP USB for Christmas. So far, I am very satisfied with the Microsoft pad, although I am slightly disappointed with the fact that you do not get button letters at set pieces, as pointed out by Ned. In this respect the Gravis has the upper hand. Once again thank you for your thoughtful comments.
