Whenever I pass people the ball they just stand there and wait for it while the defender intercepts the ball. Same on high balls, the computer always stands in front of my guy and I cannot move him. This makes World Class very hard to play. Is there a way to get these guys to move?

Sorry, this is how the AI was made. I noticed this first when I bought Fifa99 and stood in one spot and so did everyone else. You can not change this. If they release a patch it might be changed but if not then you better e-mail EAC and hope for next year.
