i play at highest level (5 stars on pes) and found out that the cpu-teams
play very boring ! don´t think that i win all the matches i play master-league
and loose most of the games but the cpu always play long ball to one of the strikers
then they win the header pass it to the box and BANG ! boring!!!
on lower levels they play pretty smart short pass games.
what do you think?

I play on Level 5 too.
Never played any Master League cuz it is too freakin unrealistic for me with all the figurative player names and stuff.
I used to play International Cups but that got boring after a while so I decided to play my own Champions League with club teams in friendly matches. You just need that one LTrack tool or a piece of paper and a pencil or a text file (I do that method) and write down your own groups and goals, cards and all that. be creative.
to get back on the topic I must say that neither in International Cup matches nor in friendly matches the CPU (on level 5) plays boring. they do a lot of short passing and generally play very exciting. so I cant agree with you man.

hello mr.x
when i play with my friends (mostly we´re 5)
then we create our own cups and tournaments how you described.that makes a lot of fun.
you can edit those master-league default player-names !
i just did it yesterday.
Mister X-K, so the only reason to find it unrealistic, is the player-names?? Gameplay comes first in my opinion. When I play master-league I find it so exciting, I don't bother the names.
Just play the game, don't play the license!
Zico@kick-off2, I think it has to do with tactics. If you let the CPU exploit the weakness in your strategy over and over again, it looks boring.
Try to find out where your weakness lies (on the flanks??) and try to avoid him to use it.
It sounds somewhat cryptic, but as long as I don't know what your strategy-settings are, I can't be specific...

Han, I just dont like the whole idea of the master league you know. i dont like the point system and i dont like that the south american teams play in one league with the european teams. i like south american football teams but i want to play them in their own leagues (copa america for example). same goes for african teams I would really enjoy to play the African Cup of Nations in PES 2 with all the teams and stuff. also European Championship and Asian stuff and everything. maybe also World Cup Qualification. Am I expecting too much?
it is a matter of opinion. not everyone likes this master league thing. of course, gameplay comes first but immediately after that there is the TEAM CHOICE and all the other DATA stuff.
nice day. im out.

Are you backwards? The Master League is the essence of PES. YOU decide on YOUR team, and YOU have to apply YOUR tactics against teams that are arguably better than ANY international team.

The master League is arguably PES's best feature. Build a team from scratch, and mould them into your dream team. I'm in my fourth master league season and am not tiring of it. Here's my team:
GK - Gilmar
LB - R. Carlos
RB - R. Koeman
CB - Beckenbauer
CB - Cannavaro
DH - Davids
LM - Maradona
RM - Garrincha
OH - Pele
FD - Cruyff
FD - Van Basten

The basic premise of the master league is excellent - start out with a team of no-marks, earn money/point to allow you to buy better players, build your own team and experminent with your own choice of tactics, try to win promotion, etc.
But underlying all of this, my one problem is that it is completely ficticious. Give me all of the above but let me play as Mansfield Town, starting out with a team of nobodies in 3rd division and try to build a team over years, try to win promotion ot the Premiership, take part in the Cups, etc.
Likewise with the International stuff, I'm getting bored playing with the same limited set of teams and ficticious tournaments. I want to play as San Marino and try to qualify for the World Cup Finals, maybe by playing all out defence because their players are so cpoor but try to sneak the odd goal on the break.
PES goes a long way to reaching perfection and now that I am getting pretty good at level 5, things are better than ever. But it falls short because it just doesn't have anywhere near enough options/teams/real-life tournaments.
And the referees and all b*stards !!
