I have been playing ISS PE2 for a long time, but what I just experienced was the best ever!
I hadn't played WC for a month and I had grown rusty with Croatia. So this is how my group round went:
[hard mode]
MATCH 1: Croatia vs. South Africa
I am definately rusty on defense. I play 5-3-2 and score first in the 20th, they respond and so on. So after trading goals, it is 2-2 in the 80th, and I am mad that I am playing so badly. Then this fooooool McCarthy scores a nasty shot from outside the box and diagonal. Brilliant. They win 3-2. Faulkers.
0-0-1- 0 pts. Last place
MATCH 2: Croatia vs. Morocco
Ok, I decide that I am fed up. I go all out offense witha 3-4-3 front 7 moving up. I have about 9 shots in the first half, but only 2 go in in the 40th and 45th. Well, whatever, I score another on a 1-2 in the 80 th and win a 3-0 that should have been 6-0. I am getting back into my groove (but the crazyiness begins later).
Match 3: England vs. Croatia
All I need is 1 point from this match to advance on goal differential so I play defensive with my 5-3-2. I luckily score on a beautiful run and fake shot combo, with a slot past the keeper in the 4th minute by Jarni. Boring game til the 75th, where England scores and I get worried. Another goal and I am out. So I play good D and make it through, barely.

Here is where the crazyiest WC ever starts.
ROUND OF 16: Croatia vs. France
Bad draw, remembering WC 98. But I decide that I will play 5-3-2 and squeeze out a win. Well, it doesn't work that way as Henry harasses me for the first half and dominates possession. Scoreless at the half. A classic scoreless, you know what I mean. Great game. Second half: I take over, but cannot finish. The action features a goalmouth drama where I shoot, Barthez blocks, I shoot the rebound off the post, and it comes back to me but I get dispossessed in front of the open goal and feel pretty miserable. It goes to extra. It just seems no one will score.
In extra, I get Jarni the ball of the inbound corner and he strikes a bullet into the corner! Woo hoo! I win! 1-0! What a game! But wait, there's more.
QUARTERFINAL: Denmark vs. Croatia
No biggy, right? Well that's what I thought. This was the most exciting game I have ever (ever!) played. I am getting warmed up, having spent a good amount of time in front of the screen by now, this is heating up. I score first, then let in a cheapo in the 25th. Weird how my D is great vs France but ****e vs Denmark. I score again in the 40th and go in 2-1.
55th: Denmark on a cheap defensive mistake. Crap. Ok, stay calm. But no, they miss a shot, get the rebound cuz my idiot goalie fails to and chest it into the net. BS! NOOOO! I am losing 3-2 in the 75th.
The WC flashes before my eyes. I can't lose now. Never. I can't get this goal though. i play and play and play. I hit the crossbar. I miss by inches. It is the 87th. I get a corner. Cross it, miss and headed back out for another corner.
91st minute. Last chance of the match. I feel butterflies. Please! I cross, pass out, and launch one. INTO THE NET! 3-3. Holy crap, I am jumping up and down with joy. Extra Time: I score a goal in the 104th. Boksic hat Trick. 4-3 win. Damn...
SEMIFINAL: Croatia vs. Brazil
Nope. things aren't getting any easier. Brazil always takes me to Penalties. Always. But let's see what happens.
They score after 6. Not unusual, I am used to it vs. Brazil. So now I need a goal. I keep 5-3-2 and control play but Roberto Carlos stops my runs and really wreaks havoc on my offense. Fast team.
Time is running out but I somehow get a beautiful move by Boban (I mean beautiful, 2 skill moves and amazing weaving through the defense). He blasts it past Dida, who had made 3 brilliant (BRILLIANT) game-saving saves before. !!!!!! 1-1!
Guess what? A THIRD straight overtime game. First time for me.
I score AGAIN, but in the second overtime this time, with Boksic. 7 goals for the WC so far. I am so hyped up now, who will I face in this greatest of WCs for the final????
FINAL: Croatia vs. Austria.
WHAT? BS! This sucks. I hate ISS PE2. Oh well, but I have to finish the job. My two good strikers are sick so I put in reserves and one of them scores a double in the first 30. 2-0. Halftime. 2-1 60th on a defensive giveaway. I am dominating possession 90-10. At least 5 good chances, but nothing doing.
They score in the 88th to my dismay. I curse myself for playing soft Defense. OVERTIME, FOURTH STRAIGHT TIME. I will crush them.
I switch to my offensive formation, and have some good chances, but they have a counter where my chances diminish to like 0, but my goalie makes save of the cup to save my ass. Second overtime, I try a few crosses but nothing dangerous.
I can't believe it. Against my worst opponent I go to the unpredicable PKs. I feel so disgusted right now. I pray.

CROATIA WINS THE MOST AMAZING WC EVER> The Goalie is glorified as a God! I call three friends and tell them what I just typed here. God, this was exhausting, hope you enjoyed it!
