Hi, can anyone tell me if the two games are the same basically.
I also play Winning Eleven 5. Comparing WE5 and WE5FE, i was quite disappointed that there was no significant improvement. I also find that it is easier to knock the ball off the CPU in the new version. .....mind u that i only played for 1/2 on the new game. I appreciate if someone can give an objective comment on the new WE5FE/PES
Thanks

Well if you are experience in the iss series at all you'll know that 1/2 a game does justice to nothing.
As far as i know the "evolution", as ill call it, would look something like this:
oldest: we5
then: pes
newest: we5fe.
but at the same time they are all very close.
I could be wrong on this, but i dont think so.

THanks. Managed to play a few more games, even started the Master League. Really appreciate the smoothness and movement and flow of game play. Graphics are stunning. However, i find the CPU's offensive build up can be easily nullified by the new improved tackling ability of WE5FE defenders. My verdict is the CPU is a lot more easier to deal with in the FE version in terms of defending. So i will try to experiment handicapping my own defensive units (e.g. editing to lower players' attributes such as defense and speed) to make a game out of it. Hope that CPU in WE6 can be more challenging

Are you playing on the hardest difficulty?

Yeah man, set it all the way to level 5.
I've read a review in issonline.com saying that goal keepers are designed to be stronger and defence much faster to catch up offensive players in the WE5FE/PES. The result so far is that there were a lot of 0:0, 1:0, 2:1 games in my young season in the master league (16 games in 2 Div). I have yet to get blown away by the CPU which i occasionally experienced in WE 5. One more thing, towards the end of the game when my players get tired, it became a game full of turnovers (by both CPU and myself)....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. So it does not have that climatic finish in WE5 which sucks u right in to play another game after a heart breaking loss.
Now i really want to purchase the old WE5 (P.S. friend of mine lent me PS2 and WE5 for few months, upon returing the machine and game, i decided to own one myself. Bought PS2 with WE5FE thinking the the new game must be better than old.....How wrong i was.) Is it just me or somebody else share the same view. I remember ZePenguin wrote something about his disappointment on the PES vs ISS Pro II for its lack of improvement. To me, i find that the new game is worst off than its predecessor.

i believe the_man would be the one to talk to about this. I'm pretty sure he owns or has owned and played both we5 and we5fe.
Your comment about the occassional boring games full of turnovers kind of reminds me of real soccer - isn't that what we want?
One thing that they do need to take care of his the defender vs. offender speed. I was about to write a big thing on this but i didn't....:crazyboy:
