Beckham and the rest from the Adidas crew are wearing new all black boots. I did some research and this is what I found. They're called Adidas Predator Mania and are designed for the 2002 WC.

The black ones are for testing the boot in game situations without giving too much away, that is was a rep from adidas told me.

The are supposed to be the most Advanced boots ever made.....and are still in the prototype stage.......and sources tell me that they will not be available till the end of the World Cup in their original form.......and infact may not be availabe for quite a while:rolleyes:

Some of you are right. The black ones are test-versions. Because they are entirely black you can't see the detals very well, so they're just for testing and development. But if you look closely to the photos, made at the launch of the new England kit, you can see that Beckham is wearing the black/red ones. Also I saw Patrick Kluivert wearing the black/red ones in training yesterday while the same goes for Zidane. Maybe we'll see the coloured ones in the Holland - England match.

Personally I really like the shoe. I hated Beckham wearing the white ones, I think it doesn't look good while wearing black socks. What I don't like on these new predators is that the heel is totally red. I really like the plain and simple black ones. They just look good, not so damn flashy.

BTW did you know that soon you'll be able to customize your footballboot? If you are willing to "show 'em the money" you can choose what color you want for each piece of leather, and you can also have your name embroiered (spelling??) on the tonque and have a number on the back. Really cool. But it will cost you a fortune I guess.
