Duke 18-06-2000, 09:56:PM It's amazing how quiet all this forum's "pundits" are about this match. Is it possible that most need England to lose big matches as a source of stimuli? An ugly match - but I want to send my congrats to the two favorite old, washed up targests, Alans Shearer and David "Boogie Nights" Seaman. Red Card 18-06-2000, 10:53:PM 1-0 to England hahaha about time to they put up a good fight but the LIONS roll on bye bye Germany http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/biggrin.gif shez 19-06-2000, 02:45:AM both crap teams produced a crap game and a soft goal. England'sonly one tactic is ...anybody passes to beckham.. he traps it...crosses it and that's it!!! Germany's only tactic? anybody goes wide...tries to cross..bierhoff heads!!! no Bierhoff yesterday? England 1-0 Germany only Portugal deserve to go through cheers PolishPower 19-06-2000, 05:07:AM From a neutral point of view this was a very mediocre, almost boring match, both teams are so damn chaotic, or at least they played that way. Amazing thing is they looked like they were playing for a draw up to the goal, what a shame! You saw more good football in the Slovenia-Spain game today, my opinion. And to people saying that Germany is the worst team in Euro, well they still outplayed England for about 75 minutes of the game so what does that tell you about England? Another funny/weird thing was the BBC coverage, what kind of analysis was that all they talked about was what England was doing and not one sentence about the Germans(both at half and post game). Damn the ITV England coaches panel were much better during the Portugal team. And Cruyff arguing with Martin O'Neil damn! there were many uncomfortable moments in the studio. Linaker was crap too in his comments. O'Neil and Pearce were good but Linaker and Cruff have to go. Neutral 19-06-2000, 05:52:AM It was a pretty poor game technically - bad passing, not many shots on net (loved that Jancker miss though). Nice save by Kahn on Owen's header. I was pretty impressed with young Deisler though - then again, Phil Neville will make most players look good http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/wink.gif But seriously - he looks like one for the future. Just one (sorta unrelated) question - I really don't know anything about the German 1st division - but I remember when Dortmund were doing really well in Europe a few years ago (when they beat Juve) - does anyone remember Lars Ricken? He was really impressive back then - what happened to him? Loss of form? Is he injured? I'm really out of the loop when it comes to German football. I was just wondering why he wasn't playing for Germany. Emerson 19-06-2000, 01:43:PM To Ricken...HE SUX!! He is still with Dortmund, and since they are just playing for relegation (spelled wrong?) he isn't any better than the whole team. I'm sure he would do much better with another team. Voltaire 19-06-2000, 08:59:PM It just goes to show that no matter how much you outplay the opposition, luck can still save you. Germany were superior to England in every respect except for the fact that Germany had **** for striker options. Jancker could not stay on his feet...Kirsten was non-existent...Bode should've started...and Rink should've been deported...Bierhoff let Germany down... |
