ZePenguin 28-02-2002, 11:05:PM there's none Gareth 28-02-2002, 11:35:PM Yeah htm and html are the same. However you can get dhtml (god knows what that is) and shtml, which is what I use, cause you can use SSI. ZePenguin 01-03-2002, 04:18:AM dhtml is a script language which is a bit of html and javascript combined, it's not used as a file extension, it's used in simple html files with the <script> command (like javascript and all) Mauricio 01-03-2002, 07:19:PM Originally posted by ZePenguin dhtml is a script language which is a bit of html and javascript combined, it's not used as a file extension, it's used in simple html files with the <script> command (like javascript and all) God u know everything Paul 01-03-2002, 08:47:PM .htm .html - I was once told this is better than .htm, don't ask me why .dhtml - dynamic html, used for better looking **** and stuff like that, like making it fancy and all .shtml - super html i think, **** know what the difference is. and knowbody knows all :D especially not me gian 15-04-2002, 02:34:AM DHTML? Anybody please reply! What is SSI? Lior 15-04-2002, 05:21:AM DHTML - make words fly in via script tags etc. makes page look fancy etc.. SHTML - incorporates SSI - Server Side Includes. This means that you can have a menu called menu.html and incorporate it into all your HTML via an Include tag. This means all your pages will have the same menu, without you having to update it every time on each page. Saves time etc. Paul 15-04-2002, 04:29:PM thats handy stuff that lior Acid (X) Amino 15-04-2002, 08:55:PM Originally posted by Lior DHTML - make words fly in via script tags etc. makes page look fancy etc.. What this mean? Hypertext Markup Language Paul 18-04-2002, 12:16:AM yep, thats the one, i did know it, just not knowing i knew it ;) mhflierman 18-04-2002, 04:09:AM There's no difference between .htm or .html. I prefer .htm because it's less typing, thus less chance of making errors. I've passed the html stage and I'm now getting into php, which is, as referred to earlier on this topic, a Server Side Include language. You write a normal HTML page defining where pictures and links should be, but you place php scripts in the html page to load different things, or pulling data out of a database. The PHP parts in your HTML page are executed by the server instead of the user's browser, and the HTML is executed by the user's browser. That's also why see normal HTML codes when viewing a php page's source. Paul 18-04-2002, 04:30:PM more letters the betta.
