Yes, you can make layouts in PS, and no, it's not hard...but, I would probably just use PS for photo manipulation and make the layout in Fireworks or Illustrator because layouts just come out looking a lot crisper looking when they're drawn in vectors....

Thank for the links.
Everybody is talking about graphics and websites lately. You all got me excited and I was planning to resume my (small) graphic editing career BUT I just got a lot of (more) work to do, so I've postponed indefinitely my comeback. :(

yeah, 7shadows from shadowness is a great designer...

CarbonFour is an ******* who thinks he's the king of graphics, but his stuff is pretty easy to reproduce..maybe that's why everyone tries to copy his style..

I spend a lot of time in the online graphics communities, so I'm familiar with a lot of these artists, another really good one is a guy called Blay. He's actually making his own RPG right now wich should be pretty cool

Shinji : i respect you as a great graphic Designer but are you telling me that the wallpapers Carbon Four has easy to make...
Well if you think they are then please let me know how to make them coz' i find them cool

Yeah, if you're talking about the abstract 3D stuff, it's easier to make than you'd think. It's basically making any shape in 3DS Max, or Cinema 4D and distorting the **** out of it, and using things like nurbs, and adding reflections, which there are lots of tutorials for on the net...

::shinji::
05-03-2002, 06:59:AM
Oh yeah, and just wait until you see my personal website coming out this summer, done almost exclusivly in Flash, it's going to make CarbonFour's site look like it was made by a retarded monkey on roller skates :D

Damn !
all the while i was thinking that all the wallpapers were purely made from photoshop...**** Man !
The i might consider that i'm even better than them..coz' they are using some other software to create those 3d shapes and using photoshop as well...thanks shinji : for opening my eyes...
yeah ...ur website would be cool..btw what will it be about , i mean something related to art & design or some soccer stuff...

Yeah man, see when I first got into graphics and stuff, that wierd 3D stuff used to really impress me, and sit there for hours trying to figure out how it was done too...those images arent even really planned, it's kinda like painting with your eyes closed and seeing what comes out at the end...

Now, I'm not saying that kind of art is ugly or lame or anything, I think the abstract 3D stuff is interesting to look at sometimes and combined with other stuff can make some cool images, it's just not as "proffessional" as a lot of people think, including me at one point.

About my site...it's actually going to be kind of a portfolio site, showing different types of work I've done or am doing...stuff like web design, logos, resume, etc....hehe, I guess I better finish these sites I been working on ;)

Until now, I've been lucky to get some client work through people I know and word of mouth, but I'm hoping if I have a site where I can display stuff I did, then maybe I can get more jobs..:D

Do you have any other sites that are already out??:confused:

::shinji::
06-03-2002, 10:25:AM
lol, err...no :D I have 4 under construction and one other in the planning stage right now though, which I should probably get off my lazy ass and finish them since I'm getting paid upon completion..:rolleyes: :)

What do you use to make them(dreamwaver?)And one other qquestion in flash is it possible to make graphics cuz it doesnt look like it.....Is it like a photoshop excpet you can make things move???

::shinji::
06-03-2002, 10:41:AM
Well, it depends, sometimes I'll make all the graphics in Photoshop or Fireworks, then put it all together in Dreamweaver. Or, I'll make the site entirely in Flash..

Flash would be more like Fireworks or Illustrator with animation, rather then like Photoshop, because Flash is a vector drawing tool while Photoshop is bitmap editing..

Agreed, Zepenguin makes a very good point here...a lot of beginers fall into the habit of relying on filters too much before getting 100% comfortable with the regular features of Photoshop...I got EyeCandy, Kai Power Tools, and Xenofex filter packages, but to be honest, I very rarely use them. You can really do a lot with just how you stack layers, transparency, and layer blend modes..
