Shooting is too hard on PES when compared with ISS PE 2. The problem is that u only have 8 directions to chose from so when u make a shot it usually ends up going against the keeper or to the sides. Scoring has become a lot more difficult but in an anoying way... I really love the game, is there something in the shooting that I'm missing? :(

you should practice more .

Don't shoot it hard , byt lay it gently next to the keeper ,

yes, that´s right matthias in and around the box you only have to tip at the shoot-button.
if you shoot without any direction (and that happens much too often because of the less time you have while the shoot) it goes straight to the middle of the goal.
i played iss2 a long time, too and found out that you have to play
completely different on pes!
i pass more often in the box when i have a bad angle to shoot; you know on iss2 you shoot from any angle very hard to hit the keeper and get a corner!! that isn´t so easy on pes! try to hold the ball and pass it . i use to pass it hard and narrow (tripple O button) if there´s enough space i pass it low(double O button)
and the triangle button works fine for me too.
if you want to score from far try to shoot it volley (after corners)
then you can use s lot of power (75%) and it will be on goal most of the times.
if you shoot when the ball is on the ground always try to hold R1-button while the shot

I don't see big difficulty's , and I never used to shoot from tight angles to get me a corner
And I also have no problems with choosing my shot direction.

Actually it is PES on PS2.
Chikitop u r right it is a bit hard to shot in PES, but if u practice more i'm sure u will get to it.
Here r some advices:


-It is very important that u control the after touch in shooting:
If u want a shot that has more power only direct it JUST BEFORE the ball leaves the player's feet; If u want a better placement of the ball(less power,the ball weel lift easier) direct the shoot WHILE the shooting gauge is being displayed;

-If u want a very powerfull(most of the time low) shot hold L2 while the shooting gauge is being displayed;
-Try to use the tight lob: R1 while shooting gauge is displayed. When u r facing the keeper and he comes out u can get a lot of goals;

-If u want a high lob L1+shot: for this one u really have to practise in order to control the after touch and give the shot a good direction.

-Consider players attributes, form and weather the player is under pressure.

As far as i'm concerned shooting is (almost) perfect, because u can place the ball anywhere u want to.The only thing that should be improved IMO is the curving of the ball. We should be able to put more curve in the ball.

matthias, i thought he was talking bout PES for PS 2 but i might be wrong. anyway, shooting in PES (PS2) is excellent in my opinion. the most important thing is to shoot with a player that has near 80 in either shoot power or accuracy or better more than 80. play a game with argentina and take some shots with Batistuta, you'll see what i mean. also great is M'Boma (Cameroon) or Vieri (Italy).
go to the training ground and practise shooting a lot, there's a special menu where you can practise 1-2 shots only. good luck.

btw. ps2 is right, there should be more curl on the shots but not like FIFA 2002!

Just shoot when you get near and preferably on the shooter's good foot. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

There's no sure fire way to score, it really is a matter of getting a chance and letting it go. Read Han's sig for the best tip.

Attributes are very important.
Try also Zidane.I love to soot with him: great power and excellent accuracy.

The curl should just like in real life (remember that goal that cannigia scored against Nigeria in USA94? U can hardly do that in PES:( )
