ZURICH: A request from Cameroon, that they be allowed to use the same sleeveless shirts - each complete with its own cooling system - which they wore during the recent African Nations Cup finals, has been turned down by FIFA.
"But they have now come back with another design of their own, quite an ingenious one, which has been accepted," said FIFA spoesman Keith Cooper.

Cooper declined to give details other than to confirm it was a design which would have commercial value for Cameroon – a good reason, he said, for not letting any details out before they were officially revealed.

He declined to say whether the accepted shirt design, with sleeves, still incorporated a novel ventilation system allowing female fans brief glimpses of the players' torsos.

"I think we will have to wait and see," Cooper said.
