But a word of warning. Do not fall asleep on the train in Italy. This is a warning from my two brothers-in-law.
My wife's brother was InterRailing a few years ago and when on the train in Italy he and his friends were engaged in conversation by two Italian lads. One got out a bar of chocolate and passed it round. The next thing the Brit boys knew was that they were waking up after having their wallets stolen. Yes, the chocolate was drugged, the Italians taking the two chunks that weren't doctored.

I related this story to my sister's husband and he confirmed it as a regular event. He is from Napoli, and says that one person always stays awake when travelling on the train as a look-out for pick-pockets.

Actually....i almost got robbed by one of those pocket thieve or whatever they're called in English), but luckely he was messing around in a pocket in my bag, where all i had where some pencils, pens and batteries........if he had stolen some of the batteries, he could have went and bought a vibrator to go fu** himself! :crazyboy: :D

well...here's what happened:
I was standing by some gu yselling those small bongo drums, cause one of my friends wanted to buy one.....and at one point i could feel something moving my bag, and before that i kinda heard a zipper being opened.....and as i turn around, i see this guy drawing his hand back....i didn't actually see him have hi hand down my bag.....but i'm sure it was him.............i kinda went into shock....and started shaking a bit.........and that guy left......:mambo:

He wasn't very good if you heard the zip being opened. Most good pickpockets (or "dips" as they are called in London) casually bump into you, straighten your jacket for you and lift your wallet all in one go!.

The two favourites in Italy are to snatch ladies' bags using a Lambretta (the guy on the back grabs the bag and off they go) and to cut open bags and pockets with a cut-throat razor or very sharp knife and catch the items as they fall out.:mad:

I got my camera stolen in a McDonald's in Paris..boy was I f*cked off..:mad: :(

At least travel insurance covered about 3/4 of the cost..

Must admit that when I went to Palma on Majorca I did have a Big Mac (but I was hungry and my car park ticket was running out, so I needed something quick!)

What I did laugh about was, while having a very nice Italian meal in Alcudia, the Wimpy next door was packed!:p
