View Full Version : Why pirate??? It's very wrong!!!
faplfm2000 11-05-2000, 02:22:PM Why do so many people pirate games like FIFA 2000 these days? Many people will say they do it because computer games are too expensive these days, but what they don't know is that the price increase is due to their stupidity.
People who pirate are doing something that is illegal, which would then hopefully result in them getting a fine. They are getting crappy copies which aren't up to standard that don't include any manuals or packaging as well.
The wonderful people who make this game (EA Sports) do their best to make FIFA 2000 so they can make a profit but then there are the drop kicks who go and burn the game so they can make a profit by basically doing nothing!!!
The bottom line is:
Pirating needs to be stopped!!!
PolishPower 11-05-2000, 05:49:PM I heard on the news few days ago that Microsoft estimates that about a quarter of all their software in use is a pirated copy. Now that is incredible, unimaginable money we are talking here! They said the mafia is probably in this pirating business. I smell a Sopranos story line here...
HNAFC 11-05-2000, 07:31:PM Who needs manual and packaging in their software? as long as the damn thing works it's fine by me.
When will you undermench realize that it matters not how you get it, as long as you have it matters. Now sure, it would be nice to pay the company to support it. Besides, Euro2k is not worth more than $20 American. And yes, there is no need for manuals. Well, unless you're an idiot. And packaging, who cares, as long as it works...
Legality is also an issue, fuuck it! I don't beleive in laws, at least not ones that are for undermench. I could take the same file, print it out, retype it manually. Then it would be mine. A file is not a physical thing. It is nothing more than 1's and 0's printed to a peice of plastic mixed with metal. It's like going back to tha Matrix with you guys. Not everyone is fit to see this. But that's ok.
sl benfica 11-05-2000, 11:41:PM I downloaded the warez version and had some one send me commentary files, because EA isn't sellinf EURO 2000 in the USA and if I ordered I'd be wasting money on shipping. Plus I think this game some cost like $5 dollars in US money because their are little or no new features added from previsous Fifa seires.
GShakan09 12-05-2000, 04:37:AM hey sl benfica where did you get commentary files? did someone rip it off their official store-released game (i don't know if that works) or did they actually find an addon online released by class? cuz in the nfo file of euro 2000 class said we can expect an announcer addon, but i haven't seen one yet. i mean, the commentary makes the game so much better.
Euro2000 should've been a Fifa2000 Update which u can download for free from EA Sports homepage, it has less teams and tournaments and the same stupid game..
Sheringham is God!
bdincer 12-05-2000, 06:03:AM That's why I guess Microsoft practicing all monopoly tactics since they are very poor. Everyody is steeling their software. What a pitty. Putting a price tag of hundreds of dollars unfairly since there is no competition. Is it fair?
faplfm2000 12-05-2000, 07:12:AM To Paul:
You must be a very selfish person who doesn't care about anyone but yourself, it won't get you far in life, if you have one... Oh yeah, I saw you the other day steeling a car then belting up that poor old helpless woman... Good on ya Mr. Tough, if you f**k legality you'll go straight to jail, smart move.
BTW: Can't you dish out a few extra dollars or are you that much of a loser.
Daniel 12-05-2000, 10:07:AM The producers of the games aren't getting much profit or the artists of the cd's don't get much profit, but who really cares. They visit your country, and when they do, they enter through a backdoor, no opportunity for an autograph, when on stage, they'll just do their songs, singing as if they don't want to be there, hurry off stage and back and away they go on a flight, but still getting all the money of a very expensive entry ticket to see some artist/s perform very awful in the one and only time you'll ever see them in your life, then why the hell should I waste more of my money to buy their stupid CD's, should I still like their music, I just Pirate, pirate, pirate, the artitst can go to hell. Same with PC games manufacturers, when they don not put a decent effort into their games, I may still want the game, but certainly not paying for it, just $3 for a blank CD and get a copy of someone who's got it, or hire it out, if it's playstation, and pirate, pirate
Maybe we should not video tape movies, but buy them instead, or hire them out every time we want to watch it. Pirating may be wrong, but who still knows what's right and what's wrong, and there's nothing anyone can do to prevent from pirating, it's the way to go.
Hunnter 12-05-2000, 04:46:PM Most of the World Wide Underground Piracy is run and organised by ASIAN operations..and that is a fact..if any of you ever visit South East Asia, you will find anything that you want from stores/shops that seem to operate freely, and all the cd's are Silver media etc etc...IE:> The island of Bali is another place where you can buy PSX cd's for as little as $1 each...cheaper if you buy up in volume...A recent survey in Vietnam was amazing, it proved that 99% of all official commercial companys were all using pirate software to run there systems..the gamers out there only contribute a minor part in software piracy, it is nothing in comparison to what is really going on around the world..
A few months ago in ..i think Orange County some where in the states, a huge pirate ring was bust by the Feds, they reckoned that the Asian syndicate were turning over in the region of over $40 million per year, all mainly Microsoft productions..so there you are, and if anyone of you can add anymore to this it would make for some interesting reading...
cabrita 13-05-2000, 12:58:AM I just got the Euro 2000, the full game
with play by play, intro, everythings...
I like it, hahaha
and to all you s****** who think warez is evil, lick me http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif
Faplfm, you're patheticaly wrong. It's you that's wrong with this society. Now, The law is made for people like you. And still me. I have a few years to go yet... now, I didn't say I support piracy. I didn't say I'm against it either. It's you that can't understand, it makes me wonder if you passed seventh grade. Now I know the fine line between right and wrong, now, inflicting pain/ and or theft of physical property is not alright. Note I said physical property (since you have such a hard time reading).
Note: I also wrote 'it would be nice to pay the company to support it', but most of the people that warez games don't support these companies. I for one have bought original software, from companies that I support. I have done this dozens of times. The reason is because I want to see them grow. Take MS for instance, I love that monopoly. I want to see it grow, it's software is nothing but top notch. The only flaw in their software is that it's always so big that there's bound to be some sort of errors/glitches. Not the programers or monopoly's fault. But if you take EAC, they get simple things wrong because lack of research. Now that is pathetic.
Let me recite from a peice of my book 'He who knows the rules should not bee fooled. He who knows the rules should not bend but rather use them to their fullest extent. He who knows how but does not use does not know how to use. It is he who is a burden to society." Not me, I know how to get out of almost every legality. Hang on, I already have. Life x five, at least. But I'm sitting comfy at home.
Take abortion for instance, it was legal in some states. It's wrong, it's called MURDER ONE. But you could do it, because it was lawful. It's people like me that help evolution and revolution. Now you are probably thinking, jeez, this guys pretty screwed up. See I know the differance between right and legality. For instance, alchohol is a drug, so is weed. But we treat them as differant things. It's ok to get drunk, because it's legal. See what I'm getting at?
I can dish out fourty bucks for Euro 2k, but I have played it, analized it very well, and see it's not worth it. Now if I were to buy it blindly. I would of taken the shrinkwrap off and I would of been stuck. Because I have no demo of any sort. Let me tell you, it is a good game, but like I said, not worth the money. More like an update.
PS, feel free to share/ridicule/steal that peice of my phylosophy. Which by the way is my 'intelectual property' or what ever you like to call it. But it doesn't matter. Please think things over when you open your mouth next time, I'm only seventeen and I know much more about what's going on around me than most people. The only way you can prove someone (like me) wrong is by examining both sides. Please do so, as I can see you haven't done so, then post your findings. Also don't make judgement on people you know nothing about. Yes, it's quite easy to stereotype someone.
To hate it takes a fool, to love it takes a man (person). I have never hated. Have a nice day.
Russian Rocket 13-05-2000, 05:37:AM I think that Russia is the most pirated nation in the world. this summer i bought about 10 CD's with at least four games on each CD for 600 rubles (now it about 20$)...
In Russia, the pirated CD's are sold at every corner, on every market, and nobody does anything about it -- I do not know a person in Russia who would have a legal version of Windows -- it is sold pirated on every corner for about 2-4 bucks. Beyond that, I don't know anyone who has ANY legal version games (except for me, and I do not have them that much either)...
Maybe that's why all the sports games (well, soccer games mostly) ignore Russian leagues -- why would they take time for research for Russian league if absolutely nobody buys a legal version???
Besides,
I am buying a non-legal version or downloading warez game versions of games that I have no intention to buy... Like my friend -- he has cable, 50 gigs of space and he spends his time downloading games on warez... He downloads a game, plays it for an hour, and then forgets it and starts downloading another one.
i'll tell you this: I have no intention to buy any EA sports game in a while (except maybe for NHL 2001) just because I wasted my money on FA Premier Football League Manager 2000 (which, obviously, sucks) FIFA 2000 and NHL 99.
Do you know how hard it's for me (a student) to get 150 bucks thrown away?
PolishPower 14-05-2000, 01:09:AM Russian I agree whole heartedly I would be very reluctant to buy any of EA's games, before reading a full review and/or playing a demo.
Paul, before you call other people fools, there is an old saying I think you should pay heed to which goes something like this: "he who is the most certain that he is right is the one who is often the biggest fool". But your are only 17, live and learn my friend, with age you will gain true wisdom...
