View Full Version : The perfect season?

So lately I've been in pursuit of the perfect season in IL with Holland (in WE5FE). These are some of the conditions I have for the perfect season:

- must win all games
- must not be scored on
- all this must be done without saving the league data and starting over when any of the above situations fail

Now, the furthest I've gotten with these is about the 5th game, which leads me to my question. Do you think it is possible to have a perfect season (by my definition)? (note this is for International League mainly).

Dont know what "must not be scored on" means, but i think without any goals against, right?
If so its 11 games with classic germany in IL on level 5, 15 minutes, playing PES.

When i had my great ML team(Zidane,Figo,etc-about 700 points), i could win all the other teams and i could have had a season without a defeat easily. But when u win like 15 games in row, the game strarts to be boring(at least for me).
So i begun a ML where i could only buy players under 30 points. Oddly enough the first year on ML division 1 with that team. Not only because of the results i got, but mostly because it turn out to be a great challenge(very fun too).

So i strated a ML where i could NOT buy ANY player at all! Just got promoted to dv 1 and what a season i had!! Lots of great games, lot of stress...without a doubt one the of the greates ever!!(the only thing that i miss sometimes is scorings amazing goal...u can't do that with castello and company :( ).

Anyway,to answer ur question, i will make u another one:

Does anybody wants to play the perfect season, cause even if u r good enough to do it(and i'm not sure i am) how much fun would u have(cause i play the game for fun)?

Btw, go trough all the season without conceeding a goal??? That's the most dificult part IMO:eek:

Playing all those matches without saving? What if I stop playing and want to watch TV? I don't have a TV-picture without switching my PS2 off, or at least at stand-by mode...

I think this challenge is only for people who doesn't have the PS2 connected to the TV.....

I use the Euro-AV Connector (SCPH-10142); maybe that's a difference with your PS2 ?

In the ML I managed to win 28 games and draw the other 2, I never re-played any games, and I also scored a lot of goals, kept mostly clean sheets too - but there are times in Level 5 where you can do nothing about what is going to happen - whether compuiter scoring or you failing to score after some complete pressure.

I initially started the season in an attempt to keep as many clean sheets as I could (I never had the best defence in the league) - but that lasted 4 games defore I let a goal in, what did happen was I tried so hard to stop letting goals in, it seemed to have a positive effect at the other end.

I ended up scoring more goals than 2nd, 3rd & 4th place put together and had by far the best defence.

I can't see me improving much on that!

Yes erichlebt, not scored on means 0 goals against throughout the season.

And Han, when I say no saving I mean that you don't save everygame so that the next time you get scored on or tie or lose or whatever you just continue from where you were winning. That's not what I mean. So yes if you are tired of playin PES/WE5FE, you can save the game at where you are, play some MGS2. Then continue from where you stopped, is that clearer?

I've tried to do this at level 4 only. Too difficult for me to attempt at level 5. And I select the best teams around to play against, Holland classic, Argentina, France, Brazil, teams that I have trouble with and are not the best in the world like Columbia etc...just to make things harder for myself.

Anyway, I opened this up for debate, to see if people thought it was possible and if they could try it out and tell me what they thought. (you don't all have to use Holland, infact I advice to use another team, cos Hollands defence is not the best).

Its almost impossible not to concede at least one goal in 7 games even! After 7 games winning on level 5 I find the CPU starts to run me off the ball. To stop them scoring I have to play really defensive, which I find too boring. Therefore it wouldn't be a perfect season!

Things start to happen like normally excellent players making bad passes even though they have a red arrow. My players are unable to turn when they are near a boundary line (throw ins, corners galore).

Maybe a better measure would be to try to win every game by 2/3 clear goals, this puts the pressure on you to score rather than defend!

As for ML I try to make it more difficult, but still interesting, by not buying any player who is already in the ML.
