Im born in Scotland, grew up in New Zealand and suffering severe depression that my home team for a few seasons now has been playing like a donkey with the runs. 6-0 hurts........

King Kenny hates to dissappoint you all, but he's as Dutch as tulips, cheese and windmills. I just have a tartan heart, that's all. I'm the only person left alive on this planet who still thinks that Scotland should have been world champions in 1978.
Where the hell is Ally McLeod these days?

Cheers,

King Kenny.

King Kenny my fault, thought you were a Scot. Do you mean Ally McCoist? He's recovering from a broken leg and should be playing again after the winter break. He currently plays for Kilmarnock FC who are 2nd to last in the premier league.

Ally Mcleod eh? Haven't heard that name in a while. I think he was back at Ayr Utd a few years ago as Manager but I could be wrong. Don't have a clue as to his whereabouts now though. Anyone?
We're on the march with Ally's army
We're going to the Argentine........etc, etc

I should hope you still count.

Ill drink to that Mark.

I thought he was talking about McCoist too but i wasn`t sure if their was a Mcleod also. McCoist is doing well to stick too it at his age and state good on him even if he is Rangers best of the decade!

Ally McLeod was the manager who took us to Argentina, (and brought us straight back again)as I said I don't know what he's doing now but it would be interesting to find out!

Oops, I hate to bring up the age issue again, but it looks like you have to be kind of ...errr... mature to remember who Ally McLeod was. Let's just say that he had the biggest mouth and the smallest brain a Scotland manager ever had. In their final game in Argentina Scotland nearly destroyed Holland but somehow only won 3-2.
As usual they went out on goal difference.Although Archie Gemmill was by far the best player on the pitch that day, a certain young man called Kenny Dalglish caught my eye and I've been following his career ever since. Hence the nickname.
BTW Dirk Diggler, I consider it an honour to be counted as one of the Scots on this forum!

Cheers,

King Kenny.

Biggest mouth and smallest brain eh, sounds like the kind of guy they`d give us. Dalglish was facking brilliant. I`d like to see him take charge of Celtic now. Who do you think should coach our national team?
Brown isn`t that bad but i`d like to see someone like Dalglish or Sir Alex oh maybe not who would you have?

Mark
14-12-1999, 02:45:AM
King Kenny, you forgot to mention he also had the biggest f@cken nose EVER!!!
They modeled Concorde on this guy.

DirkDiggler

The problem with finding a good national coach is that they get paid a lot less than a club coach. Brown makes 1/4 M a year as national coach. If Sir Alex were to go as national coach he would have to take a huge pay cut.

Ive been impressed with what Brown has done considering the players he has had available. I wonder how he would have fared during the days when we had Dalglish, Souness Hansen, Jordan etc etc playing. Will Scotland qualify for the next world cup? Do we have the young players coming through fast enough to make the grade? Will Burchill have a striking partner by then?

Wheather or not we go to japan/korea or not doesn`t really matter because like the joke goes their back home before their postcards. We have been given a tough group and although we can beat anyone on our day it`ll still be hard i think we`ll be in WC2002 though. Burchy`s strike partner eh....how old is doddsie hmm i think he`s 28 but i`m not sure. If he`s still in form then him oh i know David Johnson from Ipswich you know our Ragae Boy he`ll be up there.

The next Scotland manager? Two words: Alan Hansen.
Someone will have to coax him out of retirement though, since he seems to prefer being a BBC pundit over the real excitement. Anyone agree?

Cheers,

King Kenny

I say George Graham or Gordan Strachan.
Both are great motivators and can get the best from even a lowly squad of players.

GOONERBHOY
15-12-1999, 03:08:AM
Yeah Graham is in my opinion the most telented Manager at the moment and Strachan is facking mental but a good manager i`d like either.
