Hi
I am new to the fifa series and was wondering if I should purchase fifa 2002, or wait for WC2002 to be released and buy that instead?

My Suggest......
Wait 4 WC2002 as it promises to be the best....
Enjoy;)
With WC 2002 just around the corner i also suggest just hang out for that

But will WC2002 have all the league options like Fifi 2002 or just WC tourney play???

I don't understand, why do they HAVE to miss out on something every time they release a game?? I guess their will not be any other cups and tournaments as well.... exclusively the WC

Solution is straight buy both game :)
world cup 2002 is best , but leagues and club teams are under every regard in fifa

pick up RTWC 98; the first -and best - complete soccer gaming solution...everything else smacks of market exploitation (i.e., with FIFA 2002, you cannot play world cup, only "qualify"...how utterly stinking of market (and license) exploitation.
I hate and love EA at the same time. I really wish FIFA would foster competition by offering the license to other software companies.
98 rtwc, was **** gameplay wise compared to WC 98.
Also now its gameplay sucks compared to all the more modern FIFA titles.
It had the biggest database of all the current FIFA games, yes.
And i was a huge fan of the game, but think about it:
No Official Kits
Bad Gameplay
etc
It had some really good things but because of the two things above(theres more i think, but i couldnt be bothered thinking of them, im too tired), it wasnt such a complete game as you say.

personally, i don't give a damn about the kits and licences. All I care is the gameplay and graphics. And I think in these two respects, RTWC98 was not bad at all. I didn't get to play that much, but whatever i saw of it, I liked it...

WC98 had about 35% of the depth of RTWC98; and as far as gameplay is concerned, they, IMHO, aren't that much different at all. RTWC98 is a MUCH more complete football experience than WC98 will ever be.
