View Full Version : Club Teams In World Cup 2002
ba7787 25-03-2002, 04:52:PM I Email ea sports about the club teams in the new fifa game, they said there were gonna add some, and then i asked about the teams, they told me that their gonna add, dutch, Canada Romaina, And alot more, this is not a lie!!!!!!!!!!
Jedda 25-03-2002, 10:31:PM Eh? Why should they include club teams in a World Cup game?
Steaua Buch Fan 26-03-2002, 04:00:AM LOL :D
if this isnt a lie, then u r right, in the next "FIFA" game as u said, there will be lots of club teams, but inWorld Cup there wont be..
ba7787 26-03-2002, 05:21:PM What do you think the new WorldCup game is called 2002 FIFA world cup dumbass
TristanAbbott7 26-03-2002, 06:05:PM How full of crap are you?
Piss off to some pathetic little board full of idiots who will swallow your false BS.
You know as much as anybody who's been hopping around forums and no more.
Idiot.
ExcessiveSkill 28-03-2002, 04:43:AM I don't know if it means anythig, but the US Amazon site claims there will be club teams.
I hope they are correct.
DarkoPancev 28-03-2002, 06:06:AM Why the hell do you need club teams in a world cup game its the world cup!!!This game should only be made with national teams and be only about the world cup if you want club teams go play fifa 2002 or wait for the next game this is the world cup!!!
NAPRED VARDAR VO SRCE TE NOSAM
ExcessiveSkill 28-03-2002, 07:42:AM Settle down.
Why have 2 games if it can be done with one.
Would you really want to buy FIFA and the World Cup games
seperately?
FIFA almost has the entire package.
Why buy another game, which might only have 32 teams,
so you can play one single tournement and get to see a
trophey at the end?
You have to be off your head.
TristanAbbott7 28-03-2002, 09:55:AM Ok, from the gaming publics point of view:
"why buy two games when you can buy one?"
But from EA Sports point of view:
"why buy one game when you can buy two?"
Guess whether we'll have one or two releases in the FIFA series this year! If you think they won't release FIFA 2003 because they'll put club teams in World Cup 2002 then you're a little naive. EA Sports want to make money so it would be dumb for them to put in all the leagues we have in regular FIFA titles.
They may put a few bonus tornaments and teams in the game but don't expect it to be as full as the FIFA regular series.
EA Sports want MONEY
We want fairness and gameplay
But we lose!

Well said. There will not be any club teams in WC 2002 it is a WC cup. See 1998 if anyone has any doubts.
ExcessiveSkill 28-03-2002, 11:32:AM "If you think they won't release FIFA 2003 because they'll put club teams in World Cup 2002 then you're a little naive. "
That is not well said.
Who brought up FIFA 2003 anyway?
FIFA comes out during OCT/NOV of each year. We have 8 or so months before it will come out. By then we should all be ready for a new game. So club teams in FIFA World Cup 2002 would not hurt a future release.
The reason I commented club teams is that the US Amazon website states the following as the product description for FIFA World Cup 2002:
"Featuring 16 of the best leagues and more than 75 national teams, 2002 FIFA World Cup brings the game of the world to your fingertips. "
Here's the question then. Is Amazon correct?
I hope so.
Believing that we need someone to explain to us how EA works,
that is what is naive.

The internet is just like the real world, now we can encounter 10 times as many idiots that live all over the world at lightning speed.
TristanAbbott7 28-03-2002, 02:32:PM Virtual Skill, I'm not having a go at you so don't get into super defensive mode. What I'm saying is that EA Sports is a business and their prime interest is not mine or your enjoyment of their computer games. Their prime interest is shareholders and turnover. They realise, obviously I might add, that to release almost two identical games 5 or 6 months apart will damage the possibility of the public buying both copies. I'm not saying their won't be any leagues or bonus tornaments in World Cup 2002 just that it won't have the full range of leagues in like a regular FIFA release.
US Amazon with all due respect are no authority on Soccer Games. Remember that Fifa World Cup 2002 isn't out until April 26th, almost the end of April. That means the next due release of Fifa 2003 is down to 5 months away. You can't seriously tell me that EA Sports think we're dumb enough to buy a complete new game 5 months after the last one came out with exactly the same leagues in.
Remember EA Sports get enough grief for releasing yearly titles with virtually no changes or improvement in gameplay. Despite the fact they don't give too much of a crap about us they do like our money.
The only site I trust in news for FIFA releases is the official one, every other web site, unless they have an official interview is purely going on hearsay.
I hope beyond hope that you are in fact correct and Fifa World Cup does have all the leagues in it so I don't have to fork out another $40 when Fifa 2003 comes out just to have up to date rosters and half-decent gameplay and graphics.
ExcessiveSkill 29-03-2002, 03:06:AM No problems, too many people seem to think they can talk down to anyone in these messages boards. It's a sign of intelligence not to get into shouting matches.
EA could do anything they want.
Without multi-player leagues and tournements,
maybe FIFA World Cup will be a patch that you pay for.
Maybe it will only have 32 teams; we'll see.
If FIFA 2003 really comes out in Oct/Nov
that gives 6 or 7 months for us to master the game.
There aren't too many games that have that
kind of shelf life anymore, so a complete
FIFA World Cup could be possible.
Amazon has been wrong before, so again: we'll see.
TristanAbbott7 29-03-2002, 09:23:PM I really do hope they put club teams in though because I seriously am not gonna buy Fifa 2003 if they put them in the WC game. I've bought the Fifa titles every year since they started but the last few years things seem to have gone down hill rather than improved. True, the graphics have got better but the gameplay is getting ridiculous.
Oh, and I managed to score a header on the offical demo from way inside my own half. the goalkeeper on the opposing team was on the edge of his area for some reason and was left looking like an idiot!
(Still, given that most players can't head the ball 80 yards he probably thought he was safe!)
There will NOT be club teams, and the game wont be called FIFA World Cup 2002 as u claim ba7787, but simply World Cup 2002.
Look u r a renowned Liar, u tried to tell us u worked for FIFA in another thread remember..
TristanAbbott7 31-03-2002, 05:13:AM And you told us when you started this thread that EA sports were emailing you with answers to all your questions. What a bunch of crap. So, you work for EA, they answer all your emails, blah, blah, blah.
You are so full of BS.
