View Full Version : Is Jardel going to be with Rome next season and is Batistuta going to Inter?
Game Rod 15-05-2000, 12:18:AM Well, Jardel's manager said that this was his last season in Porto. It seems that going to Roma is the strongest chance, although other clubs from Spain and England were interested in him. So your news have some support, but I think it's still not clear. They will still have to confirm it.
Rocky 15-05-2000, 02:25:AM Well...
I think I can add some additional info.
Since I am a great fan of the team that the "goal scorer" plays on, FC Porto, that is.
Unfortunately we have to let him go..
he has played 2- 3 great seasons with us and is on his way to his 2nd golden boot with 39 league goals and 10 Champion's League Goals.
Anyway... Roma are so interested in him they are willing to pay 3.5 million contos(portuguese money), approximately 28 million dollars Canadian.
That's how good he is!!!!
Paolo_Rossi 15-05-2000, 06:50:AM I heard many people saying that Jardel is going to Rome ,is that true and is the deal already done ?Also ,when i was watching tv ,they mentioned that Batistuta scored his last goal for fiorentina and that he will join Inter .Has Batistuta signed a contract with Inter?
Paolo_Rossi 15-05-2000, 03:23:PM How are they gonna put Jardel in rome's lineup when they already have 3 solid forwards(Delvecchio,Montella,Totti)?
Drinky UKSN 15-05-2000, 03:55:PM Jardel to Arsenal, funded by Overmars to Barca looks like the best rumour.
::shinji:: 15-05-2000, 04:25:PM He'd get into Roma's lineup because he's easily better than the forwards they have.
sl benfica 16-05-2000, 05:57:AM I heard Man United wanted Jardel, because the other guy from PSV didn't go through. I would love to see Jardel play in the Premeirship.
PS If Benfica hadn't been so cheap when they approached Jardel 4 years or so ago Benfica would of greatly of benfitted from his excellent skills, but they didn't and that's life.
Paolo_Rossi 16-05-2000, 03:32:PM I doubt that he will go in the premiership ,cause i heard that 3 italian teams were interested in him(Inter,Rome,Lazio) .Btw ,gazzetto dello sport ,reported a few months ago that Rivaldo is going to Lazio ,I guess that still hasnt happened .
::shinji:: 16-05-2000, 04:35:PM Well the only thing that is certain is that Jardel WILL leave, it's always sad to see a great player leave the Portuguese league, but that's business. Maybe now he will get the respect he deserves, many people say the only reason he scores so many goals is because he plays in Portugal, but obviously that's bullsh1t because he's always one of the top scorers in the champions league, and that's the most competitive league of all.
I think he'd be perfectly suited for the Premier League, if Man Utd. had any brains they'd do anything to sign him.
Woody_007 16-05-2000, 05:14:PM My friend in Barca emailed me today and said that he read that Nunez is going to sell Rivaldo before he steps down. WHAT A F***ING B***H!!! I hope the board of directors freeze the accounts so he cannot do anything stupid. I also hear that Kluivert is up for sale too. Didn't he want to goto England? F**K!!!
Paolo_Rossi 17-05-2000, 06:21:AM If Jardel goes to the premiership ,he should score easily 25 goals + ,but if he goes to Italy ,he will probably score between 15 to 25 if he plays regularly .Also Juventus might buy Cassano for a sum of 25,000,000 $ ,should they do it ?Juventus have been very succesfull when it comes t buying youngsters(example:Zambrotta,Tacchinardi,Dino Baggio(back in 91) )
