View Full Version : Lyric of Champions League theme
thinh 05-04-2002, 10:18:AM Hi,
Anyone here knows the lyric of the theme of UEFA Champions League? It seems that it's written in English and French but in any cases I could not catch up the lyrics since my English and French are too bad. So please help me to figure it out.
You may answer following this thread or drop an email to thinhse@yahoo.com, I would appreciate very much.
You can download the song in mp3 format here:

Thanks in advance,

Larry 05-04-2002, 10:45:PM its French, and its
Die Miesten, Die Besten.... something. I saw the whole thing with the words on ESPN once.
Pancho 05-04-2002, 11:22:PM I saw it too, it's something like die miesten, die besten, les grandes equipes, the champions. That's the only part I sort of remembered though.
thinh 05-04-2002, 11:22:PM It was me who asked in ESPN few weekes ago but no words found there.
I hope someone will download and write down the lyric. I think English is not so difficult to you guys here especially to those who are American or English.
I've been waiting.....
Larry 05-04-2002, 11:42:PM why do u need it?

French?
It's looks more like German to me... :p
thinh 06-04-2002, 01:42:AM I think the first part is English, the second is French where I hear something like "nous sommes les champions".
Get more excited when I know what they are singing :D

yep, thats why i always wanted the lyrics too.
Mishkin 07-04-2002, 07:31:PM I was just watching the UEFA Champions League show and they showed the guy who wrote the song 10 years ago. He said the song had to consist of the 3 official UEFA languages; English, French and German. Then he said he simply got the words "the best", "the greatest" and "the most important" and translated them into the 3 languages.
thinh 09-04-2002, 11:34:AM Thank you for the answer. It's great to know that.
thinh 09-04-2002, 11:47:AM it's true only for the refrain.
For the rest they say something.
That's funny that we just know what UEFA show but stumble over what they are screaming. :D :D
yoyo_911 09-04-2002, 11:54:AM I tried looking at lyrics.com
uefa.com
and google
but I couldn't find anything...
thinh 09-04-2002, 12:53:PM I'm living in Sweden. Do you think it's a good idea to call Lennart Johansson? I wonder whether this gentleman knows the song. :D .
In fact, I wrote an email to the email address given on UEFA website. Hope they will reply soon.
I actually did translate the words that the song was cooked up into 3 languages as it had to be, wrote on the paper and listened to the song again but could not make it out. :D
Do you guys want to keep this boring topic alive?
Mishkin 09-04-2002, 03:45:PM I think in one part they say "These are the meilluers" *Violins* "dieses ist die besten" *Trumpets sound* "These are the champions"....."Die miester"....."Die beste"....."In order to be The Champions"
If you want to hear what they are saying better, experiment with the treble and bas.s on your speakers. :)
thinh 16-04-2002, 07:54:AM With the help from one of my corridor-mates I got it here:
Ces sont les meilleurs ce qui...Dies sind die allerbesten Mannschaften.....
The main event...Die Meister, die besten, les meilleurs ce qui the Champions.
Une grande union.....eine große sportlitche Veranstaltung....a main event
Ces sont les meilleurs....sie sind die besten....these are the champions.
Die Meister, die besten....les meilleurs ce qui the Champions.
Let's enjoy it!
