Don't know if I am in the right forum or not, but it was the closest to Web sites and stuff like that, you get the point.

Just wanted to let every1 know SGF is getting a new design, but it isn't the BIG SURPRISE that everyone is waiting for.

Cool, but did you actually design it or is it from a Frontpage template or something?

I designed it myself, I NEVER use templates!!!!!

I reckon this one is better, the old one is getting boring!

If I have any advice it's that you should extend the logo at the top so it covers the width of the site, the fact that it stops so abruptly is what makes it look like a template...because, like why would anyone who designed thier own layout make thier own logo too short?

just a suggestion. looks good still.

That Logo is old, I used it on the old site and it fit perfectly. The fact that the tables are different now is why it doesn't fit.

I am going to change it and make it better when I get time.

What resolution do you use?

Yeah, I think it would be a good idea to ajust the logo, seems a little cut-off as it is now. I had to do that for the Soccered.com logo...I still think it's a great looking logo you have there, it really stands out, looks really proffessional too.

I use 1024 x 768..

Hmm shinji's right, it does look like a template. But I remember when I was showing off some of my designs ages ago shinji thought they were all templates. LOL!

Anyway it looks squished to me. Probably cause I'm on 1024*768, maybe centre the whole thing. Check out this site www.teamxbox.com now thats a site design.

heh, yeah...I just got a 'thing' against templates, I guess. Just one of my pet-peeves

I suppose they're ok if you you want to put up a really quick site, or have a short deadline to meet...but I think if you want it to be a good site that stands out, it's gotta be totally original from the ground up..

btw..I agree about teamxbox, great looking site! :D

I use 800x600 but I want to use 1024x768, but every time I change it my brothers have a massive cry and say that it is for bigger screens, but I reckon it looks good on the one we have now. If I get my own comp then I will have the resolution 1024x768! :D

Hehehe. True. I remember when I was asking about new designs for FIFAustralia when I was hosted at Soccered everyone I showed you guys you said: "Template!", most of the time they were, or more so edited templates. Now templates just plain suck, you can't do anything with 'em. Like I now have this site www.xboxau.com which I have build from the ground up with its own database.

Also with Teamxbox, the main reason they have a great looking site is because in their team they have a professional graphic designer, professional webdesigner and a database engineer. And alot of money to spend on it. Then look at my Xbox site, which is run by rank amateurs compared to Teamxbox. I mean we aint pro's, we have no money to spare on the site. But I mean look how good it has gotten, I mean comps, forum members. Now I am babling.

BTW site looks gret now Twig Man! Keep it up!

Yeah the team xbox site looks heaps good!

I like sites to be simple like mine and yours Gareth, and the more ppl we get there the better.

My site looks great now I reckon, but I am having trouble with the players and I have to go and make every single 1 again!!!!!!!

I would prefer it this way anyway!
Oh well, better get to it!
