personally i dont wanna see it as it will slow down play and also get rid of all those great moments in football which are debated for weeks (ie. we wouldnt be talking about ruud being a cheat because the penalty would not of been given).

They use video refs in Rugby to determine whether a Try is scored and they use it in cricket to determine whether a batter is out!

Why not use it in soccer... it would eventually stop players diving!

Yeap, the video should be used !!!
There have been so many controversials in the official soccer matches like WC '86 (Maradona's hand God), this surely need
a better improvement in the soccer.

ok while i was standing at the front of the que for perth glory grand final tickets this morning i was chatting with a fairly nice bloke who said to me

"videos should be used as a deterant"

thus he meant if a player dives and gets a free kick or penalty or whatever the FA can use their own observations to decide weather or not it brought the game into disrepute. If it does then an immediate 1 match ban ... perfect people wouldnt dive and then the game would be sooooooo much cleaner

exactly ...

as Glenn Roeder was saying the other day ... you have to have that kinda romantism about football.
And not stop the play every two mins.

no video. Just get the refs to open their eyes a bit more.
it really isn't that hard.

Yeah, but only on questionable things like if a ball crossed the goalline or not . But not for diving and offsides, the refs should just be better.
As for offsides I had this idea for a few months in my head, what if the linesmen had something that gives out a signal when an attacker is behind the last defender, and the ref also had one and when the ball was passed he would press his machine and if the player is offside then the ref gets a shock.

I agree on this. Only to decide if it was a goal or not.
