i want to move some data between two computers which is too big to archive and put on a floppy disk. i want to use a direct cable connection using a cable attached to the parrellel ports of the computers. how do i move the files once the cables are connected. one pc is on windows 98 and the other windows xp.

well.. if you are using a direct cable connection.. one computer has to be host and the other guest.. if the file is in the host then you will have to share out the directory that the file is save in and then once you got connected a window will pop up in the guest system will the shared directory in it... just click on the directory and copy paste... hope this help!!;)

nah crackerz, thats childs play, damn cisco is hard tho, damn hard, i think i have taken on more than i can handle with that course :( , I am thinking hard on what to do :(

hmmm... i guess you don't have any idea what so ever on what am i saying in my previous post... :rolleyes:

well, you don't need any program.. cause everything is set on windows itself... remember to install the file sharing option in your network setting in your control panel, netbeui as well.. after setting the network sharing just right mouse click on the directory that you want to share out and you will be able to see it in your guest computer...

not enough info, in windows help there should be enough information to get it working, just search for it, and/or look under the networking topics, if you windows 2000, me or xp there should be plentiful info on it :)
