View Full Version : A little trash talking prior to the BIG game...

Looks like my boys are more than ready for the biggest game of this season's Premiership calendar. They're talking the talk like they've been walking the walk. Tell 'em how it is boys!!:D
I just LOVE Dennis' part: "Dennis Bergkamp joined in the fun at United's expense when he suggested that the shift southwards in the balance of power began with Ferguson's controversial decision to sell Jaap Stam at the start of the season.
Bergkamp pointed to United's early season problems in defence as one of the reasons they look certain to end the campaign empty-handed.
He said: 'They have been more open at the back this season than in other seasons and that has been their strength in the past. I'm quite happy Jaap's not going to be there on Wednesday.' "

man united forever 06-05-2002, 07:00:PM 6-1! 6-1! 6-1! 6-1!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're going to thrash you arrogant Gunners so you'd better watch out. Dennis Bergkamp won't be feeling so smug about Jaap Stam's departure once Laurent Blanc beats him in a foot race:D
Let's go Alex Ferguson's Red and White Army!!!!!!!!!!!!
Manchester United - still the best team in the land.
Dhruv 06-05-2002, 08:11:PM 6-1 ...you are one dreamer
i'm pretty sure they are not even gonna get a goal past arsenal def. and seaman/wright (whoever plays)
man utd. midfield is in tatters...
the chances they have been missing are unlike them so might be another upset at old trafford....
PS : watch out for DADDY Freddi !!
bloke 06-05-2002, 11:02:PM Arsenal 4 Life!!!!!
However I can say that I am really nervous. I want Arsenal to do good, but anything can happen in football? I learned that last year when Charlton beat us silly at Highbury.
GO ARSENAL!
If somehow we don't do too good at Old Trafford then ..... GO ARSENAL AGAINST EVERTON!
JUST WIN IT!
All we need to do is draw against them. But I'm sure we can pull off a win. Maybe with some help from Man U's two French clowns it will make the job easier for us :D ;)
maddog1983 07-05-2002, 12:48:AM i dont think man united will be able toscore against arse without beckham and veron

If they play Veron in that 5 man midfield I guarantee you manu will lose. Veron has hardly scored for manu this season, so they don't need him to score I think. Scholes/Giggs/Keane are the goal threats from midfield.

I believe he was refering to game played earlier where Man U one 6-1 not predicting the score.

Ahhh...Still reliving glories from LAST SEASON...How lame...
How about you try this season's Man Utd vs Arsenal results:
Nov. 5 Arsenal wins 4-0 OUCH!!!
Nov. 25 Arsenal wins 3-1 OUCH!!!
And just think, Arsenal are in even BETTER form than we were during these *** WHUPPINGS we gave Man Utd...
"Still the best team in the land"?? I'd open my eyes if I were you...
I feel sorry for all you Man Utd fans that took winning for granted and are having a problem trying to deal with the fact that you're not going to win SQUAT this season...I'd get comfortable if I were you, it's going to be a longer dry spell then you think...

hey.. you just say what i said early...
antithesis 07-05-2002, 06:16:PM What's with all this Veron bashing. I recall when I was at high school, the coach put me in the playmaker position on the first team although I was in my first year at that level. The rationale was that the team was rebuilding and the experience would reap benefits later. Well, the seniors and juniors hardly gave me the ball. The team performed much worse than the talent.
This is Man Utd's problem I think. The old heads, Keane, Butt, and Scholes never accepted Veron as the playmaker. People blame Ferguson, but he realises the game is changing back to the days of a central playmaker. The players at Man Utd still want to play the every man is equal midfield style which is becoming useless. I am an Arsenal supporter but I like the rivalry with Man Utd. Ferguson needs to do the unthinkable, drop Scholes until he learns to play with Veron .
man united forever 07-05-2002, 06:54:PM Let's see what happens. It should be a great game of football. All I want to say is, don't underestimate United. I'm not underestimating Arsenal - they're a fantastic team and have great players, but so do Manchester United. The match could go either way because both teams have played well this year and will definitely be closer than last year's match at OT.
P.S. that 4-0 loss was in the Worthington Cup where United fielded a reserve side(Lee Roche, Bojan Djordjic, etc.).
mhflierman 08-05-2002, 12:03:AM It's going to be an exciting game for sure, no doubt about it. I think that the title is Arsenal's and that we will be left empty handed at the end of this season. But I don't really mind, we'll be back next season. I can also take the arrogant comments from Arsenal fans, now that they FINALLY are going to pick up some silverware. Well deserved, but don't suddenly start being cocky will you?
willy 08-05-2002, 01:47:AM i still remember the Gunners beat the devils double in '98 when the gunners won the league.
the champion yesssssssssssssssss
ARSENAL ALL THE WAY:)
I can't help but notice in Bertkamp16's picture. The two people holding the cup are probably not going to be back next year..........................:(
bloke 08-05-2002, 02:43:PM Well?
I don't know what Vieira will decide to do in the summer. Our defence is something we have to strengthen if Adams and Keown retire.
Who should we get? I hope Wenger already has plans.
