Before all you GameCube owners get too excited. I believe that WE6 will only be available for Japanese Gamecube. The WE series has never been released to North Americans. I don't believe that Konami will released any of their football games to the North American market anymore because they don't sell. KCEO's ISS2 released in Europe is a total disappointment. Makes me wonder if Konami should just tell those guys at Osaka to stop making football games because only the KCET guys can make a good football game. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/reviews/reviews_story.php?id=28435

The only downsize to WE series going to other consoles besides PS2 is that the other consoles don't allow gamers to play backups. Therefore, no languages patches or games patches. If Konami does decided to port WE or PES to the PC, then we will utlimately see dead of FIFA. BUt then again, there are always little kiddies who prefers playing with real names even if the gameplay sucks.

Well if Konami is only going to throw ESPN MLS at the US and spend two dollars on marketing it, then yes, it's not going to sell much. But why should they let FIFA own the U.S. uncontested?

I think the contract with ESPN is history, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all signs point toward WE6 or PES2 coming to the U.S.

Here is what I found on another board related to this issue of releasing PES or WE for the North American market.

Been e-mailing the folks at Konami about WE6 in the North American market and they had this to say. Sad to say that North America will never see this title. But maybe if we e-mailed them enough....

Hello again, .

This is for your personal information only, please keep it to yourself.
And please do not reply back. Thank you, in advance.

On WE series, its property of KCE TYO, we can not touch it and do not know
if it will be in US.
Konami HWI does not have any say on what to import from Japan to US.
Konami of America goes through with their thorough game market analysis and
report to Konami Corp. in Japan if it is profitable minus the licensing
issue and other factors.
That is why DDR took 2~3 years to come out on game console in US.
And sometimes, games we prepare and create can not be published due to
certain conflict of interest with game console companies. This includes
certain soccer game we created for a game console.

There are lot of factor in stake, when publishing a game in US. :-(

Subject: winning eleven 6

Any chance that this game will come out in the U.S. since Konami
cancelled it's ESPN contract? Don't deny U.S. gamers of this game a second time because that would be criminal...

This is someone who wrote to Konami Honolulu about the subject. YOu can take at face value but I believe that the response is very indicative of Konami's stance.

What? More like 50 cents!
If I wanted to but this game I would have to do it online. No stores around me like the chains and the little ones have it! It's on eBay now though. But I'm afraid WE6 is a tad better from what I hear.... :)
