well today is D-day in the NSL the mighty Perth Glory takes on Sydney Olympic. Unlike other leagues around the world the NSL (australian) has a play off system. if you win the league you get a trophy but then the top 6 teams play off for a cup which by some is considered higher achievement than the league.

either way the Perth Glory have never won the cup losing on penalties in 2000 at home still hurts everyone here in perth. So today its our first Grand final for two years and we have again won the league ! SO

Today in roughly 4 and a half hours will be kick off in the biggest game on the Australian soccer calender and i will be their !

we have only been in the NSL for about 6 or 7 years the year we came in eludes me but today we could do a very significant double in the clubs history :D SO

Yep go the glory...

I don't follow them but they are the only team to have really made anything out of the NSL (besides Newcastle United), they always have huge crowd attendances and don't screw their supporters around.

Perth Glory = The bench mark of Australian football/soccer.

to say i am shattered is an understatement

on 48 minutes ante milicevic scored a cracker of a volley which turned out to be the only goal of the game . Glory yet again choke at the final hurdle ... two seasons ago we lead 3-0 at half time only to let wollongong come back and draw level at 3-3 then take the title on penalties ... now this . :(

we played terrible full credit to sydney olympic because with all their injury problems they still dominated the game

all you dutch football fans watch out for Lindsay wilson who signed with PSV as he is an amazing player.... i can see a mass exodus of glory players now :( edgar, harnwell, edwards (ret), faria all may be sold .... what a dissapointing day home crowd of 43 000 all shattered ! :(

well the thing about soccer is the culture

as soon as you lose a big game, you might go to the pub afterwards and think youre gonna drown your sorrows but pretty soon, you'll live and let live and see who can drink 15 kegs of beer afterwards ;)

haha great call mate ... still its hard to take ... as for that thread saying we are the biggest chokers. .. bayer leverkusen thrown away the bundesliga more than twice and the german cup and they'll probably lose the CL as well ... but either way it hurts in the guts
