View Full Version : Best Programs
I been looking thru pc mag and I found some costly programs for web editing, graphics and so on . . . how do these companies expect the normal person to pay extravagent amounts of money for thse programs. Heres a list:
Adobe InDesign 2.0 $1800
Adobe PageMaker 7.0 $1345
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 $1500
Adobe FrameMaker 6.0 $2099
these are just some of the stuff . . . (all is AUS $)

what about people like me who want it, but can't afford it cause its such a rediculous price :)
I know, Kazaa helps :D
Actually these programs are very expensive. If you are a professional you can buy them cause you need them but i like them for hobby!Damn they are too expensive!
assathin 17-05-2002, 09:08:AM Most expensice program I've ever seen was Maya Unlimited that cost £15,000.
However they've recently drastically slashed the price in an effort to actually sell copies.
ZePenguin 17-05-2002, 09:43:AM Well maya is maybe the most professional program ever...the majority of game developpers use it for their games, so i don't think they'd need to cut the prizes to sell copies :)

assathin 23-05-2002, 11:56:AM Maya is a 3d graphics package. I believe it was the software used to create some of the effects in the matrix. You can get a free learning edition from http://www.aliaswavefront.com/freemaya .

Well, you know the scene in the matrix in the subway where neo and the agent jump in the air an fire the guns at each other? Well the subway in that scene was actually designed and rendered in Maya, it looks just perfectly real though!
