View Full Version : Will these be any good?
hello all.
I can sorta tell u what I am gonna upgrade to and I need people to tell whether or not these three will work with each other :).
AMD Athlon 1800 XP
256/512 mb SD RAM - PC 133
Gigabyte GA-7ZXE m/b with onboard sound
will these three go allright with each other? Like work and not have any incompatabilites such as the processor not liking the ram etc? And will they be a considerable difference on a
AMD K6-2 500
64 mb SD RAM - PC 100
Jetway m/b
Cheers

dont think u should be using SD Ram considering u r getting an Athlon XP 1800
use DDR
and also try to avoid onboard sound stuff
they support sd ram . . trust me I have checked everything twice.
onboard sound is ok . . I gotta vibra 128 but installation is dodgey as!
theres only one thing i am worried about . . keeping it all cool . . one my friends has and athlon 1800 xp and he had to cut a hole in the side of his case just to keep it all cool!
Why don't you add an extra cooler?
not as easy just going out and buying and buying . . I do have a liminted amount of money
btw everyone (for who is concerned :)) I am getting ddr ram, PC 2100 I think and a different m/b . . . damn i gotta stop changing my mind :D
m/b extra $15 AUD however ram is a little cheaper . . and dropping
Oh come on a good coller and then you will be able to overclock your pc too!
