Whether you like it or not, Shearer, Owen, and Heskey are more than likely IN.
So who is OUT? Is it Cole, Fowler, or Phillips?

Drinky UKSN 17-05-2000, 11:24:AM Fowler and Phillips to go to the lower countries. Cole to stay at home. Why? Fowler, had he not been injured for much of the last three years, would have established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe. Phillips has proved himself in a team which is mostly devoid of skill by consistently scoring goals without having to be spoonfed. Give Phillips the world-class service from Beckham and Redknapp and watch the goals pile up. Schumacher 17-05-2000, 07:23:PM Nope, I think Owen and Shearer will start up front. Look at the Belgium game - Phillips bombed and Owen came on and lifted the team. As for Heskey, well he doesn't really score goals, and as good as he is I think it's got to be Owen and Shearer. Or then again, Owen andHeskey play off each other every week - I wonder... No, don't think so! PS Seaman should be dropped for Martyn! WaltonSw 18-05-2000, 06:31:AM Fowler will miss out through lack of big game practise. I think that Euro2000 has come too quickly for him but Keegan still wants him in the fold for World Cup qualification. I have a feeling Shearer and Heskey will start with Owen coming off the bench. I think cole will also travel but will not game much of an opportunity, unless injury forces Keegan's hand. |
