I last posted here ages ago after shelling out money for Fifa 2002 & even buying a new pad to play it.Frustrated as hell,I gave up with the POS and signed off with a bit of a diatribe against the game.
I still come to Soccergaming as I was lucky enough to get a PS2 & PES at Christmas but thought I'd pop in here to get the real feedback for WC 2002 (never trust a magazine review of an EA game - or most games for that matter).
Anyway,made me laugh to see a forum with threads pretty much mirroring everything that was said back then about Fifa 2002.Having recently played WC 2002,I was astounded to find that it's actually worse!
Game flaws have been covered to death elsewhere,but I genuinely didn't think WC could be as bad,yet some of the said flaws are gobsmacking in their folly.
Would it be that logic prevailed in the gaming community,you would have thought that by now,nobody would be buying this thing and I'm only glad I stuck to my guns and jumped off the conveyor belt this time round.
I'll avoid PESvFIFA arguments 'cause they bore me to death,but I'm happy in the knowledge that - for now - I have the best footie game on the market.
On a side note,I think EA may have modelled their ref's/linesmen on the numbskulls presiding over the S.Korea v England friendly today - and human controlled teams on England's 2nd half farce!!
