Before the forums went down a couple of days ago, someone posted a request for help with the banding problem playing FIFA 99 with a Voodoo 3 video card. I have the file that fixes the problem, so if you still need help, let me know who you are.

It's me again, Ric (check your E-Mail soon, by the way! ;oD)! Sorry to bother you, but I have a Voodoo3 card, and I can't see any problems with FIFA 99 (except for some jerkiness, which is getting rather annoying, as I updated my PC to a Pentium III 500mhz a while ago...)! I installed the drivers and things off the disc that was included with it, followed the instructions, and installed the new FIFA 99 disc that came with it, and everything seems OK! What is the Voodoo3 problem that a few people have been reporting, do you know? I would also be interested if you give me the location of where I can download the fix you have mentioned, just to see if makes any difference to my Voodoo3 card with FIFA 99! OK, well that's it! What voodoo3 patch?
Just delete the file voodoo2a.dll of your /trash folder and say goodbye to those 3 annoying horizontal lines.

Hi again Chris... thanks for the nice email. http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif The banding problem exists after you install the official patch to allow for higher resolutions. What are you playing at? I'm at 1024 x 768 and boy does it look wonderful!!

Anyway... you'll see a series of lines about 1/2 inch thick running through the playing field. You can see them the clearest when playing with it snowing. The link for the fix is no longer good. But I have the file you need. It is the voodoo2a.dll file you'll find in your Thrash subdirectory. When you replace the one you currently have with the one I have, the bands are gone. I've already sent this file to about 30 people.

If you'd like it (or anyone else for that matter) let me know and I'll email it right over.

Hi Ric nice to hear from you again I just like to say I have a Voodoo3 and play Fifa'99 at the same resolutions as you and boy your right it looks cool very cool.I did however have problems with Fifa'99 untill I downloaded the patch from EA Sports.....
