View Full Version : Newbie kit question (probably)

Well I've been away from Fifa for quite a while but what with the world cup and all my interest was re-newed. Wanting to be able to releive the experience and to see what it might be like for England to qualify from the group stage (coz it's not gonna happen) I decided to see if there was a WC patch and low and behold I found the FIFA Egypt World Cup Mega patch.

After downloading it and following the installation instructions down to the letter (as far as I could tell) I loaded it up. And thats where my problem started. The kits. Why is it that I can only see the kits in all their fine detail when in cut-scenes or really close up to the camera (i.e. when a player first appears from off-screen in tele mode).

All the rest of the time the kits look crap and even change (i.e. England away changes from all red shirt to red shirt with white sleeves as they run around).

What have I done wrong? Or is this how it's supposed to be? Or is the patch just screwy?

Also while I'm here the entire fifa scene (well from a newbie point of view) seems really complicated. If someones kind enough or can be bothered I don't suppose you could explain to me what all the different things are (i mean like 3gk, 4gk kits, sweetpatch, fifafx or any other erm "things" out there which are fifa related and confusing). Be greatly appreciated.

Oh and one last thing I don't suppose there's another World Cup patch which actually has the teams in their proper groups?

Thanks for reading this coz I know its quite long. Any help would be appreciated :)

the WC mega patch uses 3GK kits, you need the 3GK essential files to get it working properly:

3GK main installation: http://www.socceraccess.com/downloads/Download_Info/50.php

bugfix: http://www.socceraccess.com/downloads/Download_Info/51.php

if you want the correct groups, there is ONLY ONE patch with this feature and it's BolzerMike's FifaFX World Cup 2002 Patch download and more details are available at http://www.fifafx.de (site in english)

Thanks for the info.

Another question now though - downloaded FifaFX and the World Cup files but I get error messages in the FifaFX dialogue box saying its unable to rename user and wcuser directories.

I think this is whats preventing the Fifafx WC patch from working and after consulting the FAQ on the FifaFx site it says this is due to some files being read-only and I need to change the file attributes.

However even using the program suggested the read-only attribute refuses to change - is this a WinXP problem and is there anyway to get round this?
