Self-confessed AC Milan fan Francesco Coco is relishing the chance to pull on the Inter shirt next season.
A deal was revealed which will take Italian international Coco from Milan to Inter, in exchange for Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf, once personal terms are agreed.
Having spent the past season on loan from Milan at Barcelona, Coco is looking forward to a Serie A return.
"I would have stayed at Barcelona, but I also wanted to return to Italy," he said. "And in our championship the first choice was Inter."
He told Gazzetta Dello Sport how Milan had frozen him out last summer.
"With Milan, the discussion was closed in September when I went on loan to Barcelona," he explained.
"As a Rossonero (Milan supporter), I played to stay there but the club decided otherwise."
Currently in the Far East with Giovanni Trapattoni's Italy, Coco's arrival has won favour from an international team-mate.
Inter striker Christian Vieri is convinced the 24-year-old will prove a shrewd acquisition.
"He is a great player," said Vieri. "If signings have to be made, it is better that we get young Italians."
Inter finished third in Serie A last season, having led for long spells until being leapfrogged by champions Juventus and Roma on the final matchday.
