I think EA should get the two guys who anounce the Champions League on ESPN, I think their names are JP Delacameron and Tomy Hill. Either them or the Motson team

I would like it to be Motson but if EA wants american commentators for the u.s version it should be Andres Cantor this guy could commentate in spanish and english,he has commentated the last 3 worldcups for a spainsh chanel here in the states not only that his GOOOAAALLL shout was the most electrifying worldwide as voted by fellow commentators worldwide.ESPN tried to get him and so did ABC channel 7 but this guy is bounded t a contract so who knows???he also did two comercials where he commentated in english they were for pepsi one had campos and the other chilavert and they sounded more exciting than the mls games, also he did another commercial for snikers this too kicked ass.this guy also knows about footy he wrote a book on the history of the world cup and he is familiar with all players europe, south america ,asia ,africa ect and hes up to date on whats happening since he hosts a radio show about footy news and events.

The bigger question to me is why doesn't ESPN get JP Delacameron and Tommy Hill to do the MLS matches?
They are a heck of a lot better than Phil Schoen and Ty Keough!!

I enjoy Cantor, though I wonder how well he would translate to English... I hope his contract with Univision runs out! It would be great to get him going in English so future announcers can learn the style.

Cantor's book was good, though the writing is a bit simple. -Worth reading.
For those who care, a really good history of the World Cup is Paul Gardner's "The Simplest Game."
It has a good history of the WC, and Olympics, not to mention a good history of basic tactics.
-A really fantastic, and comprehensive book.

I don't like Sky's team personally, in FAPLS they sounded way too wooden. And in any case, there is no-one who could replace Motty. At a pinch... Clive Tydesley is good, and has experience (CM2 commentator), and I like Peter 'Football Italia' Brackley. Just pray they don't get Jonathan Pearce...

Gregiato the person your refering to is Jorge Ramos he is good but he wont be able to do it in english as well as Cantor who is more proficient in english language...I also watched that game , i enjoyed Pinheiro's goal.

I agree 100% with the Martin Tyler choice. He does a great job on the Premier matches. Nothing wrong with Motson. There is someone else that I like too from watching Fox Sports Premier League but I can't remember his name, Ian Crocker?? or somebody named Crocker?? Little help please...

FIFA Freak,
Yeah that`s him.
You don`t like Andy Gray?
If they recorded Gray more realistically it would be good cause he just calls it like is, he doesn`t mess about. If a player done something stupid he wouldn`t hold back in his oppinions, deffinatley my fav commentator.

I agree that it should be Andreas Cantor it would be the best if they got him.

By the way I read his book on the World Cup and found it to be a much better book than Brian Glanville's "The Story of the World Cup". which is more famous in the world. Cantor gave more interesting stories about the games with an upbeat attitude because lets face it WC is like Christmas which comes around every four year. He also got more into personalities and the little interviews in each chapter with the past star of each cup was great, as was the statistics pages. I recommend this book if you find it.

Glanville in comparison was so negative, always looking to criticize, he sounds like he could find the negative in anything, it was like "here is why this WC sucked..." Also I think he was very biased in favor of Europe, he was always looking to criticize S and N. America, Asia and Africa. Plus the statistics pages were much worse than in Cantors book.

Andres Cantor is the best. He can do it in English AND Spanish. I was watching the Patchuca Cruz Azul game last night and the guy from Telemundo [don't know his name]was also very good.

PolishPower,
I'm about 3/4 of the way through Glanville's book right now, and I pretty much agree with your assessment. His writing is also pretty weak... I also agree that he writes with a strong Euro bias. On the other hand, I'd say it's very interesting to compare Glanville's recap of the 1978 Argentina WC with Cantor's.
They are both biased in opposite directions.

If you haven't read Gardner's "The Simplest Game" (1996 updated version, it's well worth it. His analysis is more balanced than Glanville's. It's not just a WC book. It is more of a history of the game. -Very interesting.
